We celebrated a 23rd wedding anniversary with friends and had a lovely afternoon tea. We can highly recommend the food, location and service. The yea was well stocked fresh sandwiches, cream scones and served with tea on the landlords mothers 30 year old china. We were asked to be careful with the china.

We visited the Fountain for Sunday lunch. After a wet walk from Tintern a decent beer was very welcome. They had a wide range of lunch options and all were reasonably priced. The food came quickly, the service was friendly and everything was tasty. Well cooked using good quality ingredients. We'll be back.

Our meals were brilliant value. The owners really do deserve support, they are so lovely. Nothing was too much trouble, properly sized meals, made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and cooked to perfection. Have visited a few times for a drink, good real ales and sat beside the log fire, bliss! Have booked a table for Christmas! Yes, that good!

We'd been staying locally for a fortnight and it was without doubt the best pub/restaurant in the area. We ended up back there lunchtimes, evenings and for Sunday lunch. Its a touristy area so there are many establishments around but this was the most welcoming. Great family run pub with lots of atmosphere, they were even running early breakfasts for... More

Sunday lunch at The Fountain is perfect and outstanding value for money. A great mix of traditional vegetables perfectly cooked and presented. The beef and lamb are top quality and my wife, a potato connoisseur, raved about the roasties. Their choice of real ales and lagers are also first class and change on a regular basis. The ambience is a... More

We stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay at this lovely traditional Inn. Full of character, history and charm. The Owners were friendly and helpful and made you feel welcome. Beautiful surroundings in an unspoilt part of the UK. The food was outstanding and plentiful. We met local farmers and their produce was used by the Inn. The rooms... More

We had a really great time at The Fountain last night. A beautiful, old building with a really good ambience and a good selection of local ales and ciders. It was a quiz night (in aid of Help for Heroes) and we also had a meal. The food was very good and served beautifully. The quiz was great fun and... More

This Inn has been in serious decline for some time so it's good to see its resurgence under new ownerhsip. We had a great Friday night there with good value food (home cooked fish and chips) and plenty of 'brewed-on-the premises' cider...... We'll be going back. Well done!

Our local pub closes for a couple of weeks in February and The Fountain is next nearest so we headed down there last Friday - great atmosphere in pub, oak beams and roaring fire. The restaurant is a bit less cosy but the food and the wine were excellent and it was really good value for money - if this... More

It's a bit out of the way, especially on a wet and windy October night but well worth the trip. We were staying at Tintern Abbey Cottage about 6 miles away near the Abbey and The Fountain was recommended by the owners and previous occupants. As I walked into the pub I must admit to being slightly wary. I had... More
