Our family of four (kids ages 11 and 13) stayed 4 days in the "treee house". Nothing like waking up to howler monkeys and watching toucans fly by as you drink your coffee on the veranda. The owners were away when we were there but we were well cared for by Johan the caretaker. If you go, I highly recommend... More

We had the great pleasure and the real treat of spending 3 nights at Bio Thermales last week. Our hosts Kathy and Bernie were wonderful, immensely knowledgeable and responsive to all of our needs. They have built a truly marvelous and unique property situated conveniently between Muelles and Aguas Zarcas, an hour from the chaos of La Fortuna and Arenal. The Cabinas... This is a wonderful hot springs, for families and couples. If you are able I highly recommend staying here as a guest--we stayed for one night in the tree house, and it was wonderful. Our only complaint was we couldn't stay longer! The hosts are so, so, so helpful and such kind, interesting people. Highly recommend!

If you're used to driving Costa Rica's back roads you'll be OK getting to Bio Thermales. If you have problems driving several miles on heavily potholed roads, think twice. This is the rainforest - and you can expect a lot of rain, even during the dry season. The hosts are amazing, with a wealth of experience. They were key workers... More

We love it so much the owners have become close friends. We found this awesome place first on the internet and then when we saw their sign close to our home we just had to check it out. The land it's self is first and foremost a natural wonder in its own right with the hot springs and rain forest,... More

as the owner and operator of the Pura Vida Guesthouse in El Castillo, my guests always ask where they can go for an authentic hot springs experience, but still have some amenities to make it comfortable. well now after a hike at rio celeste, or the caves i have a new favorite place to not only take my hikers, but... This is the sort of place that makes you want to fall in love with Costa Rica. Don't come here if your goal is to play golf and get your nails done. You can do that anywhere. Come here to experience something closer to the real Costa Rica. We stayed for 3 nights in the treehouse with our two teenage... More

I first saw this enchanting hideaway on airbnb when I was looking for a cabin in Costa Rica. It looked so enchanting that I planned our whole trip to Costa Rica around this location, with the great help from Kathy! She held my hand the whole way. The hot springs are a great way to relax after an action packed... More

We stayed two nights in the tree house at Bio Thermales in April 2013. We were drawn here not only for the tree house experience, but also the hot springs, there are no natural hot springs in the area where we live in the U.S. It is about a 40 minute drive to La Fortuna and the Arenal area, where... My wife and I traveled to Costa Rica for our Honeymoon and stayed here based on good reviews from Trip Advisor, and it was a delightful experience. We stayed from Monday through Thursday and I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing time. We saw lots of sights, but nothing could beat waking up at dawn and walking down to... More
