The most beautiful little hotel, the friendly service was second to none and nothing was too much trouble. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to leave, all facilities were clean and everything was well appointed including thoughtful touches like extension leads and hair dryer. The breakfast over looking the garden was lovely especially knowing everything was locally sorcery.... More

Stayed one night to visit the Harry potter studios, which is around half an hour drive away, staff were very nice and helpful including local food recommendations. Comfy room and lovely view of the garden out back. Breakfast was a good, solid fry up with full table of expected alternatives (cereals etc). All told an enjoyable and comfy place to... More

We stayed here for 2 nights recently.Warm welcome but cold shower...and switch to try and get hot water was in the bedroom!Warm cosy room but not much space to unpack and the extension cord for a plug socket was found too late to use.Delicious breakfast however with local bacon and eggs served by the very friendly hosts. No room service after... My boyfriend and I stayed here at the end of last year for a night on the way into London and it was lovely. I've never felt so welcome and at home in a hotel. The owners were so lovely and friendly and put on a really delicious breakfast. The room was immaculate and were made very homely, it didn't... More

We stayed here for one night recently. We were shown to our room which is always a nice touch & it was warm & inviting - not huge but perfectly acceptable. We ate locally at the Mela Restaurant - reviewed separately - & had a drink at The Bell. Breakfast was a traditional cooked breakfast with a choice of cereals... More

Having had a good stay here a couple of years ago, we decided to do so again when back in the area. The hotel is cosy and homely, but a bit unique with the hot air balloon theme that runs throughout. My room was clean and well appointed. Only slight criticism was that the water in the shower took a... More

We stayed one night as we were booked into The Kings Head restaurant for a meal. We were greeted like friends when checking in and given a brief description of the local area and a map in case we were thinking of taking a walk around the village. We were then shown to our room which was warm and cosy.... More

What a lovely little place, went above and beyond to help us get every last detail for our wedding perfect. On the day the staff were very attentive and did an amazing job rearranging the room so we could have the wedding breakfast. We had stayed overnight in the room in the garden was lovely and clean and quiet for... More

I never really know what to write in a hotel review. A hotel is one of three things: 1) it's one of the Leading Hotels of the World and is hundreds of pounds per night, in which case it's almost certainly excellent; 2) for whatever reason it's awful and the stay was a disaster from start to finish, 3) it's... We were only here for one night but we got a very warm reception, comfortable room and the most tasty breakfast ever with locally source produce. Would defiantly stay here again and for longer next too.
