The hotel was nice and well appointed. The spa was nice, although a bit chilly at times. The staff could be friendlier and more helpful. Food was overpriced for the quality of it. Breakfast was nice. Coffee served at breakfast was excellent.

Visited this damp hotel from Newmarket Holidays trip after a long journey collected my key from reception not even with a smile, upon arriving to my room (number 156) I was greeted with thick dust on the curtains, cobwebs around the corners, dead insects around the windowsill, thick mold on the windows and around the bath and sink, a strong... Positive... Great location and setting. The grounds look very nice, hotel looks very impressive from the entrance. Convenient for motorways and a good price. (Paid £45). Free WIFI and Free Parking. Negative... After initial impressions, I had the same feeling from other Britannia hotels. Outdated! First notice was the lift, clearly very old, very loud doors clanging as they open,... More

Well what can I say about our festive afternoon tea. After not having a good experience here in the summer with an afternoon tea (we booked but they were not expecting us) we decided to give this hotel another chance. What a surprise when we turned up on sunday 29th November to be told that they didn't have our booking... More

Just had our third visit to the Daresbury Park, and once again, had a lovely stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and nothing is too much trouble for them. The food was excellent, as was the leisure facilities. We have read the previous negative reviews given on this hotel and the staff, and feel they are not a... More

Upon arrival to the hotel we were greeted by the reception team; not so much greeted... More like grunted at. We approached the empty desk for one of the receptionists to grunt at us "I'm with that man!!". We then apologised and waited for her to finish. The other receptionist stood there not really saying much so we assumed she... More

We stayed at the hotel as part of a package deal, which included a spa treatment, evening meal and breakfast. The reception area is nicely presented and the staff were polite and helpful. Once you leave the reception we quickly realised that everywhere else in the hotel was very dated and this just got worse when we got to our... More

We had an overnight stay, and were a bit concerned with some of the reviews previously posted - Our room was clean although the carpet was a bit worn, and it smelt as if a recent renovation (minor) had been done - The electrics were a bit strange, as you couldn't use table lights without leaving the main lights on... We stayed for 1 night and we were really impressed. On arrival the reception staff were excellent and very welcoming. The room was lovely and the bed was very big and comfy. The bathroom was clean and had complimentary items like shampoo, soap & body lotion. The only negative was that the shower was very hot and we couldn't get... More

Just returned with my wife from an overnight stay on a DB&B basis. Only paid £59 so must keep this in perspective. Yes, the previous reviews are reasonable but let's be realistic. Based on what we paid I can't really complain. Yes the rooms were a little tired, yes the decor is a little dated, yes the hotel has gone... More
