This property was as close to the perfect B&B as I have visited. The hosts John and Mary could not have been more charming and helpful. John even drove us to a lovely nearby pub for our evening meal. The cottage is so picturesque, whitewashed, with honeysuckle climbing the walls – a garden full of roses. On arrival Mary gave... More

Heath Cottage is right on the Offa's Dyke path and an ideal location to stay. Mary and John were wonderful hosts and gave a lift to and from Montgomery for us to explore and eat. We had a lovely room with great en suite. And of course a great breakfast.

U recently stayed here for 3 nights. What a lovely place and John and Mary are a very nice couple. The heating was on in the room for my arrival which was very good. I will definitely stay here again and recommend as much as possible. Again, thank you for looking after me Colette

This was one of the best bed-and-breakfasts we stayed in. A lovely warm welcome, with tea and home-made cakes, large beautiful comfortable rooms and ensuites, and the best breakfast (with home-made juice and jam). We enjoyed chatting with Mary and John, who were also able to give us a good recommendation for dinner. Thanks again!

The owners John and Mary offer a warm and friendly welcome to this character B&B. It offers everything that you would wish from a top B&B venue. From a welcome cup of tea with home made cake to an excellent full Welsh breakfast. The local knowledge and information is an added bonus.

One of the nicest hotel-experiences I had in a long time. This place could easy beat many of 5* hotels! The booking was quick and easy. I was arriving late with a train and John offered to pick me up. At my request, he took me a restaurant, so I could get some take-away food. On our way back, he... More

Right on the Offa's Dyke path and a lovely welcome with tea and cake after a hard day climbing over Beacon Hill etc. The hosts obviously love their work and we felt more like friends than guests. TV's in the lounge and internet connection was patchy but apart from these the stay was very comfortable. Apparently, the local pub is... More

An outstanding example of rural B&Bs at their best. Heath Cottage is a lovely picturesque house with honeysuckle climbing up the outside. Inside, the bedroom we had was attractively and traditionally furnished, but with a lovely modern bathroom and a good shower. The hosts were wonderfully welcoming and attentive without fussing, and the breakfast was just superb!

A group of us stayed here recently while in the area and it could not have been more perfect. John & Mary are the perfect hosts and made us all feel very welcome. I visited Heath Cottage in March 2015, having completed part of the Offa's Dyke national trail, and in May 2015 at the start of the final section through to Chepstow. Having stayed in many different places during the walk I would say that this was my favourite overall. John and Mary are charming hosts, who understand the needs of walkers... More
