I was working in Newtown for a couple of days so needed somewhere somewhere to stay for a single night. The location is great, it's just off the main road and the building is well illuminated so it's easy to find. The main road is very quiet though so there's no noise to worry about. The room was very comfortable,... More

Stayed here for one night whilst going to a local event. Owners are welcoming, though lady better than man. Rooms are clean, large, and airy, though decor could do with a bit of updating, good heating, bathroom clean too, though shower is the lowest I have ever seen, I'm 6 foot, and looked down on it. Bed was comfortable. Had large... More

I booked for just one night in order to attend an event nearby the following day. As a single traveller, I am resigned to paying inflated prices and then being given the smallest, meanest rooms available on many occasions. It was a real pleasure to find that not only was the room rate reasonable, but I had been upgraded to... More

Great value for money in the area and better than anything you will find for a similar price in Newtown. Very clean. Good breakfast. The lady of the house was friendly and chatty. Soulless and a bit stuffy and on a warm, bright and sunny day not a window or door in the place open to let the fresh air... More

In a beautiful peaceful setting, but easy to find from the Newtown-Welshpool road, this B and B was a former hotel and is fully licensed. Our room was tastefully furnished with a co-ordinated honeysuckle theme and with a firm mattress an armchair. The small, and rather cramped washroom had a shower, which could do with updating to a more efficient... More

I was made to feel so welcome from my first phone call to confirm my booking. On arrival I was greeted warmly and shown to my room which was a delight with lovely views over the countryside and garden. My room was spacious, warm and spotless. I had a delicious evening meal and afterwards sat by a log fire in... More

Dolforwyn Hall is a very reasonably priced B&B, with evening meal provided if required. It is in a scenic location and is ideally situated for touring mid Wales. It is very close to Montgomery, Powis Castle, Glansevern Gardens, and Gregynnog Hall. Both the evening meal and the breakfast were delicious. The proprietors were very helpful and provided excellent directions. The... More

The owner was very accommodating when I changed our booking three times before arrival. We were able to securely store our 6 bikes overnight and Cheryl offered to fill our water bottles the following morning. There were a couple of local bottled ales to pick from and an extensive wine list. The evening meal was above average and the service... More

This is a lovely Country House in a superb setting overlooking the Severn Valley. The service was first class, the rooms extremely comfortable and the breakfasts were certainly hearty. We will definately stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed here for a family get together, all of us were impressed with the food, Great Roast beef and hosts were brilliant. Rooms were comfortable,we had a front room and the views were fantastic. Within walking distance of Dolforwyn castle which is a lovely walk through country lanes, however I suspect you would need a car to get the... More
