The hotel and welcome are truly first class. Our suite was simply divine. Bright, clean, lovely view over the gardens and extremely comfortable. Foolishly, we dined in the restaurant on our first night; £80 per head for a tasting style menu. We sat down at our table at 8:10pm and were still there at 10:50pm. At which time we left,... More

Joan Reen (the co-owner) gave us a very warm welcome with her super large but friendly dog. Her husband Rob’s pictures decorating the walls are very striking and the whole house is decorated in a very colourful but tasteful way and is absolutely immaculate. Our room Renoir was very well furnished with sofa and windows overlooking the brilliant red rhododendron... More

We spent two nights at Ynyshir Hall recently. The grounds and gardens are beautiful with fabulous views from our room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Be aware that the “Tasting Menu” is exactly that. You are given a minute amount of food in huge dishes/plates for each course. Every person on the table has to agree to the same one... More

Welsh Tea at Ynyshir Hall – Hyfryd! We thoroughly enjoyed a couple of hours in the lovely hotel on Saturday, June the twentieth. The presentation was immaculate and the food was fresh, warm and delicious. Our favourite was the homemade Marmite butter on ‘straight from the oven’ cheese scones . Will definitely be back! We went for afternoon tea at Ynyshir Hall on Saturday 20th June & had the Welsh Tea. It was excellent. The service was attentive and the staff remembered that I had phoned in the morning to enquire about availability. For £15 a head, the sandwiches were plentiful and really tasty. The scones, Welsh cakes and bara brith (welsh bread with... More

I thought I first happened upon this hotel by accident, but I soon realized it was no accident. I not only felt drawn to the serenity of the place but to the people I met there and I soon felt I was staying with old friends. There was a certain feeling of coming home at this place. It was quiet... More

Had a fantastic two nights here which coincided with the only two beautiful days of May. I can understand the odd negative review especially from Californians as the hotel is not about facilities it is all about great food, staff, location and relaxation. The decor in the room probably just about justified the price but everything else exceeds. Joan the... More

I'd hearted about Ynyshir Hall (pronounced "un-us-hire") from various colleagues. All of whom waxed lyrical about it. So off we went for an overnight stay with a evening meal to celebrate my partner's birthday. What a fantastic place. The rhododendrons and azaleas were in full bloom and the gardens were immaculate. The original estate of over 220 acres has now... More

My partner and I stayed for two nights over a recent weekend. The journey up from Bath takes you through some stunning countryside (a 'local' told me to take the 'pretty' route). We stayed in 'Miro', which is a Garden Room, and the views over the well-maintained gardens and the surrounding countryside are superb. The room is beautifully furnished and... More
