We stayed at this fantastic B&B this week, we had hired the whole cottage as there a were 6 adults and a 15 month old toddler. Sally and Steve are the perfect hosts and couldn't do enough to make our stay any more comfortable than it was. The rooms and cottage are beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The lounge area... More

We have just returned from a three night stay at Poppy Cottage and had a lovely time. The room, though quite cosy, was comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The corner bath was great and worked equally well as a sit down shower. Breakfasts were hearty and delicious and the guests' lounge and garden were an added bonus. The hosts,... More

We stayed for 3 nights at Poppy Cottage last week at the beginning of our holiday in Yorkshire and The Lakes. What a brilliant start! A lovely old farmhouse - a very comfortable room, snug sitting room for our use, even a sunny decking area in the lovely garden. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the breakfasts Steve and Sally serve... More

To write a simple review of Poppy Cottage I would just need to say read all the other reviews, they don't lie, it definitely deserves it's excellent reviews. The setting is perfect overlooking the Yorkshire dales. The guest house is spotless, the breakfasts are excellent and, depending on what you choose, can be quite filling. The real beauty however is... More

On arrival we found ourselves in a comfortable, converted farmhouse, with every modern convenience. A very warm reception from Steve (chief cook and bottle washer),followed by an equally warm reception from Sally. Following a tour of the ground floor, gardens and "animal sanctuary",we were shown to the Sunflower bedroom, which overlooked the garden and hillside beyond, where.wild life abounded. Nothing... This was our first visit to Poppy Cottage but it certainly will not be our last. Sally and Steve are wonderful hosts making us feel very welcome on arrival and throughout our three night stay. We had the Poppy room which is an absolute delight; Breakfast was excellent with exceptional choice and very well cooked. The whole place was just... More

Our stay at Poppy Cottage was faultless. The sunflower room had a lovely outlook over the back garden to the hill behind. It was nicely furnished with an old fire range that had been hidden behind a wall until the extensive sympathetic restoration. The bed was a decent size, very comfy and all was blissfully quiet. Breakfast was nicely served... More

The delightful welcome from Steve and Sally made us feel more like house guests rather than paying customers. Tea provided in the delightful rear garden seating area ... Peaceful. Great decor throughout, breakfasting room especially. The Primrose room was well appointed for a Cottage style B&B and has a corner bath. Steve and Sally put on a five star breakfast... More
