We were fully prepared for the quirkiness of this conveniently situated hotel. However, we were not quite prepared for the first room we were offered. Bathing would have caused concussion due to the bath being situated under the sloping roof. A shower was out of the question since it was hand held over the bath and the only way to... More

We stayed at the Grand Hotel as part of a party of 40 people, travelling with Rail Discoveries. It was a wonderful base for our holiday. A quirky French hotel. The food was excellent even though it was specially prepared for our party and lots of it especially the four course dinner each evening. (As much wine as you can... More

We were part of a group consisting of about 30 travellers. All couples seemed to have a different style and size of room, many experiencing interesting and sometimes amusing features. We had a tiny bedroom and bathroom, but enjoyed the balcony that was attached. The meals were not exactly fine dining but were quite enjoyable and both the food and... More

We were part of a group, we all ate together. The meals were just about acceptable, with very little choice. There were copious amounts of wine included, obviously not top quality. The rooms were basic, not many facilities, a smelly bathroom, uncomfortable bed. The hotel is very well situated, being very central and in the old town. Better food was... More

We visited as part of an organised holiday party. The breakfasts for the group tended to be a little on the penny pinching side and evening meals were similarly formulaic but generally satisfactory. The food in the main restaurant or on the terrace looked excellent. The rooms vary apparently from cramped to large with a balcony, I would suggest that... More

Nice hotel on a Main Street so it was easy to find. Parking on the street is not always so easy to find. We got a room with a great little balcony/table /chairs. We had a fan in the room which came in handy since it was hot the day/night we stayed there. We wound up eating dinner at the... More

I took my family to eat at the Grand Hotel for my 60th birthday on 2nd June 2014. The staff were very helpful, polite and allowed us to finish our poorly spoken French before stepping in to help us out. The food and the service were excellent and not one of us had a bad meal. It came up hot... More

This is the second time in 4 years that we have used this hotel as an over-nighter. It is in an excellent central location, with the best place in town to sit out for a drink and people watching. The hotel room, (308) was disappointingly poky, bedclothes were well past their best and a very small bathroom with a dirty... More

Stayed here as part of a Treyn tour and was a bit apprehensive having read previous reviews. However, we were pleasantly surprised with a really nice room, dual aspect, excellent four course evening meals with lots of included wine and such efficient and friendly staff. Family run, nothing was too much trouble. Although next to a chiming clock and on... More

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was disappointing but adequate, the bathroom was in desparate need of updating. Other guests appeared to have far superior rooms we were perhaps just unlucky. The food was OK. The wine supplied with dinner was plentiful.
