We have just returned from the Bordeaux area, and have stayed at a lovely hotel close to the airport and very convenient to visit the surrounding areas. Their website gave a good description but we were a bit concerned at first because they were the cheapest we found in the area. However, when we got there, we were surprised to find they also had air-conditionned room in a brand new building, which was great news! The room was very comfortable and spotless, with a brand new bed. A clean swimming pool, lots and lots of flowers everywhere, and friendly staff (some of them even spoke good english! ) : we couldn't believe we were in a one star hotel at 34 euros a night.
Its best to have a car when you stay there as public transport is not too close.
