While the prospect of travelling to an area without localised amenities (mainly for the weary traveller on foot) may seems daunting to some, it is the location of this hotel that directs your decisions to stay in this hotel. The entire area is quite simply put, beautiful. It is a place worth staying for a night, or perhaps two at... More

Granted not every room overlooks the lakes, but that really is the only questionable thing about our stay.... Clean & tidy, quality food & Guinness (and reasonably priced!). Every member of staff (and we saw a lot in our 5 days) was always happy & smiling and will not walk past you without greeting you.... All in all an excellent... More

My partner and I wanted a few days away from it all to relax and unwind and expected the pontoon bridge hotel to be somewhere cosy and tranquil. This was far from the case. On arrival we were told our room had no view of the lake and instead looked on to a busy road. Ironic as the catchphrase for... More

We stayed at the Pontoon bridge Hotel in Foxford Ireland for 4 wonderful nights. The place is one the most beautiful locations in County Mayo we have ever seen. We went fishing with a Guide (Jack) and had a great time fly fishing and catching brown trout. The hotel bar and the two dining areas serve anything you would want.... More

My partner Lorna and I stayed for two nights in The Pontoon Bridge Hotel 4th and 5th June 2012 this was in preparation for a trip with a large group later on in the year. Check in was speedy and easy. On our first night we had dinner in the restaurant overlooking Lough Conn and the views were fantastic, we... More

We stayed in Pontoon with a Pigsback voucher. When booking I requested a room with lake view however when we got to hotel they said it was a garden view which we did not want. We were then offered a disabled room with a balcony and decking...we left the hotel as had to run into Castlebar and we rang back... More

We stayed in this hotel with our Mums and we were able to take our dog with us who was kindly welcomed - very unusual in hotels in Ireland. The views were absolutely breathtaking and the food in the restaurant was just to die for. We had an evening meal which was very expensive but was outstanding and that comes... More

Pontoon hosted us for our small wedding reception and it was perfect. Breeta and her staff are professional and courteous and nothing is a problem. Grace Kelly suite was divine and food to a high standard. Rooms were clean and afforded lovely views. Thank you Pontoon!
