The electric gates open onto a driveway out of a period movie. I appreciated the style. The reception was warm and friendly. Honesty bar, free WiFi (using it to write this review) and nice large rooms. I felt happy to be here. Only downside is distance from the town center. Ideal if you're driving.

Nice room, pleasant surroundings amid fields with only the hum of the M11 through the open window to remind us how close the place is to the main arterial road. One gripe: the WiFi didn't work at all and the mobile phone found no signal, so we were cut off with no one to solve the problem after 8 pm.... More

We have just returned home after spending 1 night in a Chalet room. The purpose of our trip was to attend an evening wedding reception being held at the hotel. A very warm welcome when checking in and a personal escort to the Chalet which is a modern building (but sympathetic to the overall feel of the main house and... More

The lady on reception was very keen for us to pay on arrival even though we weren't leaving early the next day and had booked through a website that had taken our credit card details. The room was pretty with a nice view, but one of the curtains had a rip in it and what looked like an ironing scorch... More

We went to a family wedding reception here and it was amazing. The drinks and canapés on arrival, the ambience, the overall atmosphere: it was all so good. There was a marquee in the grounds for the lovely meal and dancing later. All guests were accommodated either in the main house/hotel building and some of us were in a detached,... More

We had our wedding reception earlier this year at Rectory Farm. The house and gardens were beautiful, all of our guests were delighted with their rooms, staff were all extremely friendly and polite, and the food was delicious. All in all a fantastic place which we will certainly be retuning to. Highly recommended!

Stayed for two nights in the chalet in what is lovely settings and a brilliant location close to the city and just a short walk away from the main park and ride into the city which you need to do because parking is so expensive in the city centre, but the room we were allocated at the top of the... This was the second time my partner and I stayed at Rectory Farm. We booked to stay for one night in the chalet and it didn't disappoint. The accommodation is surrounded by fields and wildlife, the rooms are clean and tidy and the beds very comfortable. We didn't have the breakfast this time as we felt we could get a... More

What a shame - we had looked forward to our stay at Rectory Farm. We were travelling from Australia - a family of six - grandparents, parents and two children. The description on the website had us anticipating a peaceful two day break in the middle of three weeks of travel. The entrance up the beautiful tree lined drive, and... More

The rectory itself is a beautiful, old building, and beautifully furnished. However, your accommodation might be in the chalet. It is situated in many acres of land, but the amount of wandering you can do is limited. There is an attractive garden and an outdoor swimming pool of generous dimensions. Our room in the chalet was adequate, although it had... More
