Gill and husband give a very warm welcome. Rooms are comfortable and clean. A great breakfast included. We had the full English which was of very good quality. Very pleasant surroundings and ideal for Cambridge which is about 10 minutes drive. Public transport is very close as well.

Very enjoyable stay. Late to bed but no problem. Room warm and very clean Continental breakfast but our own choice as rather a heavy night. Could have had full English if we had wanted. Would reccommend as very handy for Cambridge, great way to avoid high parking fees.

This is a very well-run BnB, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stop there. Host Gill and husband are really friendly, and have everything set up for the traveller, so you will find in your room a copious supply of local information, tea, coffee and biscuits, power points and a hair dryer. Extremely comfortable bed! The bathroom has a good supply... More

Difficult to really put my finger on why I have only given Ashby B&B 3 out of 5. The location (10-15 minutes drive from the middle of Cambridge, and opposite a Park & Ride) is fine. The way I was looked after regarding the welcome, seeing that everything was ok was great, the owners are friendly people. But something is... More

We stayed at Ashby Bed &Breakfast while doing a roadtrip to Cambridge. Simon and Gill are very welcoming and friendly, telling us the best way to get into Cambridge. The room is very clean and comfy, and there are several brochures and magazines on Cambridge for our reading. Breakfast was full English and the owners are always asking if everything... More

I had a lovely stay at this b&b while visiting a friend. Gill and Simon were friendly hosts. The place is in a small village outside Cambridge, near a park & ride car park and there is an easy bus ride into Cambridge. There is a friendly pub nearby selling a good Chinese meal. My room was clean & cosy.... More

Rooms were not clean, we strongly suspected that the sheets had not been changed on the bed, there were dead insects on the windowledges, cobwebs in the corners of the room and the toilet was very dirty. Not recommended.

We are sorry that this one family who wrote both reports were not satisfied with the accommodation. We agree the biscuit crumbs found in a draw were not pleasant and we should have inspected and cleaned the draws and we will ensure this does not happen again. As regards bedlinen I can assure anyone who stays with us all bedlinen... More

I am really sorry to the owners who were pleasant and friendly but the standard of the accommodation was very poor. One could forgive the very dated décor, old fashioned carpets and very tired furniture if the rooms had been clean. We booked all three of the rooms for a family stay for a Christening but were disappointed to find... More

Stayed one night here with friends. B&B is a self-contained wing of the bungalow. We had all three rooms (one en-suite, one double and one twin). As well as the en-suite bathroom there was another bathroom with bath and separate shower, and yet another toilet and washbasin. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Really excellent full English breakfast which set us... More
