I stayed there 3 nights with a friend in 2 rooms. Hotel was fine but they asked us too much money , over 120 euro, we only noticed after paying it. We went back to reception and apparently they had no money to pay difference back in cash and to put it on credit card not possible too. Since 2... More

Although a chateau is often a grand palace or castle it’s literal translation to English is a manor house and as you approach Le Sallay you can see that it is a very pretty one. The small staff were all friendly and welcoming. The evening meals were fabulously prepared and elegantly presented. Our room was large and airy and decorated... More

Lovely property, I would agree with others it's more of a guest house than a hotel. Nice clean warm room on the ground floor with all mod cons looking out over the pool/garden area. It seemed as though there were only three or four staff, but they coped very well. Dinner was abit of a disappointment, little choice and came... More

Dear Customer, I am delighted you have loved the property, but really sad you have not liked our concept around sustainable growth. We are the pilot for the Burgundy region, the whole property is managed in that spirit (wood heating, eletronic management of each single room, etc ), and this is as well true for our restaurant. All products are... More

We picked this spot as a mid-point on our journey, and it was really a little gem. It's located on tiny winding back roads, so you really do wake up in the countryside with no city noise, and see cows browsing in the field next door. It's really a small guesthouse, not a big hotel, which suits me much better.... More

Beautifully restored chateau and grounds. We stayed in room 10, which had a great view down the front entrance grounds. Downsides were: not very soundproof from the common hallway; toilet was too small, you had to open the door to get up; no cold water in the bathroom sink, only hot and hot; and hand held shower only worked with... Wow what a find. This beautiful little chateau tucked away off the beaten track is only four miles from Magny Cours. On our arrival we found that we were the only party staying the night so we had this gorgeous haven all to ourselves. Felt very special and nothing was too much trouble for the team brought in for the... More

The two nights were like a honeymoon, in the "chambre du roi soleil". This petite, well appointed Chateau with friendly staff attended to all our needs. With touches of old blended with a modern touch it is the perfect spot to dream beside the pool or drink a glass of champagne on the terrace and listen to the sounds of... More

The chateau is located in a very quiet area. It is a very beauful palace. Our room was very big, comfortable and we had beautiful views from the bedroom ant bathroom. They make dinner if you reserve. In the particular day that we stayed there it was not possible to serve dinner (the cook had a day off or something),... More

Hi I am definitely sorry you didi not get the information in advance, we usually do so when we get direct bookings, but some websites distributing the castle do not provide very accurate information; Next time, we will be delighted to propose you a diner, even if the restaurant is not open, as we can also serve a "table d'hote".... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The former summer residence of the dukes of Nevers, this charming Renaissance château has been fully restored. Less than five minutes from Magny-Cours, it is set in a magnificent park surrounded by a countryside worthy of the best paintings of Jean Watteau. Inside the château, its rooms will charm you, testaments to the decorative arts. In the annexes, the décors of the rooms take their inspiration from history and the natural environment: the Bertranges forest, the Pouilly vineyards, the Loire... a veritable immersion in south Burgundy. As for dining, you will be seduced by a cuisine that is inventive and modern while being solidly anchored in the land. We are delighted to welcome you, and to share with your our "Château life" ... more   less
