Beautiful house, very kind owners, really good food!!! In the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nature, you can relax and enjoy the peace of this beautiful B&B. Cozy rooms, full equipped and with great view. We also had dinner and it was delicious...you must try!! Thank you very much Fiona and Norman.

Couldn't have asked for a better venue to end our 3 Peaks trip! Fiona & Norman are extremely welcoming, caring and considerate hosts catering for your every need. After completing the 3 Peaks in 29hrs with little sleep we were all despertately looking forward to hot showers, warm beds and a fantastic breakfast and Gwaenynog certainly delivers on all counts!... Why thank you for saying such lovely things. We often get great feedback for the beds, our showers and, of course the breakfasts. It was lovely to meet you all and we were more than happy to accommodate your late arrival - these things happen, but it was a shame you missed Norman's lasagne! We both admire anyone who takes... As you'd expect, situated in lovely countryside. Building is attractive and outlook superb. view out of the lounge window amazing (you need to be a bird watcher). The bedroom was immaculate, if a little small and the en-suite excellent. Evenning meal avalable at reasonable price (good quality food). Breakfast choices were excellent (Salmon & scrambled egg - yummy). We will... More

We stayed for 2 nights over the wet May bank holiday and had a lovely time in the Owl room with four-poster bed. We loved all the little touches like fresh milk available without having to ask for more (what a great idea!), the biscuit jar, and the sweets. Also, and this is going to sound daft, I thought including... More

We spent just one night here but it was a very pleasant experience. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location is lovely if a bit tricky to find if you have left the instructions at home! 4th visit in 3 years. Fantastic location and a lovely house to stay at. Attention to detail in the bedroom for creature comforts could not be better -home from home. Really comfortable bed. Fiona and Norman could not be nicer hosts. Looking forward to my next visit.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Gwaenynog is a beautiful farmhouse in a quiet and scenic location, surrounded by 16 acres of land - a mixture of fields, woods and wetland; there's a lot of wildlife and flora, plus a variety of birds, including Peregrines and our resident Tawny Owl. There are extremely comfortable beds, powerful showers, generous towels, lovely shower gels and shampoos, a choice of teas and coffee in all the rooms with fresh milk, flat screen TV's with Freeview & DVD players, and free wifi; all with varying views from every window. We offer tea and homemade cake or biscuits after your journey to help you unwind, between 4-6pm. Relax in the guest lounge or out on the patio if the sun is shining. After a relaxed night's sleep rise for a leisurely cooked breakfast of locally produced ingredients or perhaps something lighter. Our breakfasts are plentiful and varied - made for vegetarians, coeliacs or other allergies too - if you let us know in advance; and all made from the best local produce. Bordered by ancient woodland and hedgerows that offer seclusion, the campsite offers some wonderful views. You can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet that is synonymous with Gwaenynog. Quiet country lanes, ideal for walking or cycling, can join up with marked walks such as Glyndwr's Way or Ann Griffiths walk (a mile away); or utilise other public footpaths and bridleways that cross the surrounding farmland. Or walk to the local pub (2.5m). And now, are you thinking of getting married somewhere rural and connected with nature? Then why not come to Gwaenynog. We're now licensed to offer civil partnerships and marriages in our barn or guest lounge. The only restriction is your imagination and budget. So, why not visit Mid Wales - it's worth a look. ... more   less
