Our experience of the Owl family room at Gwaenynog was very welcoming and all of the facilities provided were of a very high standard. Excellent quality consumables and towels were provided with a superb standard of cleanliness. Our host provided great email communication on booking with excellent directions. Once settled in we found that wi-fi access was good and at... More

A gem of a location. The room etc was of a high standard and breakfast was well prepared and served with cheerful efficiency. I now know where all the song birds have gone they are outside Gwaenynog window woodpeckers in abundance

Thanks for saying such nice things about us - we're glad you enjoyed your break with us. Watching the birds at breakfast is becoming a regular part of a stay at Gwaenynog. Everyone seems to enjoy seeing them - a favourite is definitely the Woodpecker! Regards, Fiona & Norman & Bonnie & Beau! More

Fiona was so accommodating of us as we literally flew in one evening and left straight after breakfast the next morning! We will definitely be returning as it was so peaceful and the view from our room, Peregrine, was absolutely stunning over the welsh mountains.

Lovely welcome - great room - great shower - great directions to a great meal - and lovely breakfast to finish off our one night stay. Fiona helped us plan our route back to Holyhead. Nothing is too much trouble to her.

We stayed only one night. I would of stayed longer if it was possible. Beautiful house, friendly owners. Even the dogs went for an evening walk with us. Very clean and comfortable room. I would stay again there when I go to that part of the world. Thanks.

Stayed one night here on the campsite in our Campervan. Lovely clean facilities Lots of hot water Great welcome. The b&b looked lovely too. They provide outside table and chairs for campers - very welcome as not seen this anywhere before. Only down point was it was difficult to find but once we got there it was worth the effort!

Couldn't have asked for a better venue to end our 3 Peaks trip! Fiona & Norman are extremely welcoming, caring and considerate hosts catering for your every need. After completing the 3 Peaks in 29hrs with little sleep we were all despertately looking forward to hot showers, warm beds and a fantastic breakfast and Gwaenynog certainly delivers on all counts!... Why thank you for saying such lovely things. We often get great feedback for the beds, our showers and, of course the breakfasts. It was lovely to meet you all and we were more than happy to accommodate your late arrival - these things happen, but it was a shame you missed Norman's lasagne! We both admire anyone who takes... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Gwaenynog is a beautiful farmhouse in a quiet and scenic location, surrounded by 16 acres of land - a mixture of fields, woods and wetland; there's a lot of wildlife and flora, plus a variety of birds, including Peregrines and our resident Tawny Owl. There are extremely comfortable beds, powerful showers, generous towels, lovely shower gels and shampoos, a choice of teas and coffee in all the rooms with fresh milk, flat screen TV's with Freeview & DVD players, and free wifi; all with varying views from every window. We offer tea and homemade cake or biscuits after your journey to help you unwind, between 4-6pm. Relax in the guest lounge or out on the patio if the sun is shining. After a relaxed night's sleep rise for a leisurely cooked breakfast of locally produced ingredients or perhaps something lighter. Our breakfasts are plentiful and varied - made for vegetarians, coeliacs or other allergies too - if you let us know in advance; and all made from the best local produce. Bordered by ancient woodland and hedgerows that offer seclusion, the campsite offers some wonderful views. You can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet that is synonymous with Gwaenynog. Quiet country lanes, ideal for walking or cycling, can join up with marked walks such as Glyndwr's Way or Ann Griffiths walk (a mile away); or utilise other public footpaths and bridleways that cross the surrounding farmland. Or walk to the local pub (2.5m). And now, are you thinking of getting married somewhere rural and connected with nature? Then why not come to Gwaenynog. We're now licensed to offer civil partnerships and marriages in our barn or guest lounge. The only restriction is your imagination and budget. So, why not visit Mid Wales - it's worth a look. ... more   less
