The Gwaenynog is a very good B&B, it is well located with some good roads close. The house is comfortable, very clean and well decorated. The owners are very friendly and have a can do attitude to any request. Many options in the Breakfast and good quality.

Cosy and very comfortable. The food was of good quality and beautifully cooked. Made to feel very welcome. The only downside was the broadband, which was accessed by passwords. The signal is very weak and often lost and it is a pain to have to type the password over and over again.

Thank you for writing a review of us - and we're glad you enjoyed your stay. Apologies about the broadband - one downside of being in the countryside is sometimes the signal is not great - we're also 5 miles from the exchange, so it's never fast. I was unaware that you had to re-type everything, as most phones/tablets remember... More

It was a really enjoyable weekend, in a tranquil setting, and all the services were of a high standard. The views are excellent, and we were able to use a lounge area to socialise during the evenings. We would highly recommend.

The house in a beautiful situation. We had a great welcome. The bedroom and bathroom were lovely and the food (tea, dinner, and breakfast) was excellent. We have stayed twice and would strongly recommend it.

Definitely a step above the average bed and breakfast establishment. The owners take extra trouble to prepare for your arrival and again after arrival. The quality of the fittings in bedroom and bathroom are first class. Excellent value for money.

To find a place like this was a joy, although it is hidden up some very narrow roads the directions where easy to follow. A farmhouse B&B with exceptional hospitality from the tea and cake on arrival to the information on the area. Very clean and an exceptional breakfast. We will be returning.

Thanks for saying such nice things about our B&B - not everyone follows the directions on how to reach us, but it is easy when you know how! And we think it's worth the find! We're glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to a return visit! Regards, Fiona & Norman - and Bonnie & Beau! More

When we arrived we were greeted by 2 lovely, friendly, well behaved dogs - Beau and Bonny. We expected dogs as it's a farmhouse and every farmhouse has at least one dog. They were no trouble at all. Fiona and Norman then appeared. They were really friendly and treated us like old friends and looked after us very well. We... More

Stopped here for one night with my wife on a quick visit to Lake Vyrnwy. We were greeted at the top of the drive by two dogs ( not a problem for me but the wife is a little more apprehensive ). One of them made Fiona aware of our arrival. After giving the Dogs some attention Fiona showed us... More

Hi Stuart, Thanks for your review. We’re very glad you graded your stay as a 4 and that you were happy with the facilities offered. However, we are a little disappointed by your more extensive comments that leave you “undecided” so would like to address these in turn to hopefully reassure yourself and other prospective guests: Farm Dogs: We have... To be fair to our lovely host Fiona, she did warn us that there would be a wedding taking place during the weekend following our stay. This, we thought, having seen our own daughter married the previous weeken, would not be a problem to us at all. However, although we had a very enjoyable stay, we feel that perhaps Fiona... More

Thank you for your review of us - we're glad you enjoyed your stay, in spite of - or is it despite - the normal slightly chaotic lead-up to a wedding. I'm not sure quite what would have been different without that happening though, or what your expectations were, but we do hope you come back another time. Regards, Fiona... More

Picturesque location. All the facilities were in near perfect condition. The lady who runs it is very helpful and can give you advice on good walks/restaurants nearby. Only drawback may be the location, as a good 25-30 minute drive from Lake Vrynwy.
