Excellent B&B with very warm welcome. Wonderful room (Peregrine) with very spacious and comfy bed. Brilliant home cooked food. Sat in the residents lounge watching the birds including a woodpecker and the lambs in the field. Watch the Water Buffalo in the field at the entrance. Cross Keys may seem a few miles away but does wonderful food with generous... More

Thank you for your lovely review and such kind words. It was nice to meet you both and we're glad you enjoyed your time here in mid Wales. Sadly the Water Buffalo will be going to their summer grazing in early May, as they're only here in winter time - it's more sheltered than their summer place, apparently, but watch... More

This is an excellent guesthouse. We had a very warm welcome from Fiona who is exceptionally well organised in everything. The house is in the middle of nowhere with stunning views of the countryside. It is really peaceful, all you can hear is the quiet baa-ing of the sheep and the moo-ing of the cows. There are large numbers of... More

We booked through the excellent website, which gave us a good picture of what to expect. A warm welcome from Fiona, tea and bara brith on the patio, and an excellent dinner and breakfast cooked to (prior) order (and as Gwaenynog is licensed, wine with dinner), all in a nice residents' lounge with lots of birds to see through the... Very good B&B. You can book without fear : very spacious and tidy room, a large choice of sweets and cakes, generous breakfast . Fiona is a excellent hostess. There are no restaurants or pubs near the B&B, it is an inconvenience.

Tucked away in the countryside of North Powys, you’ll find this gem of a B&B. The rooms are tidy, the beds are great, breakfast is generous. What makes it outstanding though is dinner at Gwaenynog. You will not easily find a restaurant in the area that serves such great food. Apart from being a great cook, Fiona is an excellent... More

Thanks for taking the time to write a review of us, and for saying such nice things! And yes, its real porridge! - I'm always grateful when guests order it, as I make double and have it myself - I don't often bother for just me! As for the early breakfast - we've done 6am before now, so 7.30am is... More

We thought accommodation was as expected and value for money however the meal was expensive compared to other similar establishments that we stayed in and in particular the charge of £2.50p each for a cup of coffee and a few mints is greater than a lot of restaurants, especially when no refill was offered. We would have made our own... More
