My wife and I stayed here for two nights. The first night, we were one of only couples there. The second night, we were the only people at the inn! Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Nicely appointed, and each room is different. Breakfast is very good; there's a cold buffet plus a choice of entrees. Food is good. Late... More

Airdoc_169 For a quick anniversary getaway, the Ballard Inn gave us the most relaxation and the nicest amenities we could have ever hoped for, especially for an inn in such a small town. The Inn's grounds were exceptionally cozy, the evening wine tasting while sitting on a cool front porch was sublime, the dinner in the Inn's restaurant was truly... More

We stayed there July 16-20, 2014; the first time we've stayed here. Very intimate, quiet and quaint inn. Restaurant is better known, I beleive, than the Inn. They both deserve 5-star ratings. Rooms are subtly themed, very clean. Housekeeping was great. Even though the room didn't have a TV it didn't matter. It was nice not to be distracted with... More

The first time we were at the Ballard Inn it was for our anniversary. That was 6 years ago. At that time the largest city near it was Los Olivos. We went just to see Los Olivos. We were pleasantly surpised about how comfortable and appealing the Ballard Inn was. It is only about 10 minutes from the center of... More

This was our first stay at this beautiful Inn and hopefully not our last. It sits off the beaten path in between Solvang & Los Olivos. We love Solvang and wanted to visit the area again for our anniversary. We have previously stayed in Solvang and chose to stay out of the town. This Inn was a perfect choice to... More

Between Solvang & Los Olivos this is a perfect mid point to visit both spots if you have a few days. Solvang is the more touristy area, Los Olivos a smaller yet more trendy & intimate area. Plenty of horse farms & wineries around. Ballard itself has some history. The folks at the front desk will provide a booklet for... More

We love going back to Ballard Inn. We always make sure we make dinner reservations at the Inn. The owner is also the chef. The rooms are so quaint. I love the annex rooms better because I'm getting oldl and walking up the stairs is not working for me anymore. The free breakfast is also good. They have appetizers and... More

My husband and I and another couple drove up to the area for a weekend of wine tasting. We didn't want to stay in Solvang .... the "kitschiness" of that town is a little much for us, and the high cost of more remote places like Fess Parker seemed unnecessary. Ballard Inn is a great option in the middle, but... More

The service at this inn was excellent. Located in a quiet rural area, the inn itself is very charming. We stayed in "Mildred's Room", which was more modern and cosmopolitan than the more country themed rooms. We really liked our room but the other ones were also very cute. All in all it was relaxing and serene. No tvs but... More
