Saturday 30 January... We made it! Beating bushfires and the smoke surrounding the hills, clinging like a mist, but smelling like the fire was only a short distance away, the glow of the fire surrounding the hills, copters flying over us each day to check our progress... If you can do the first day, you'll make the rest of the... More

Bush fires surrounding us ( group after us was helicoptered out and Track closed for several days ). First day is by far the toughest. Also side trip to Mt Ossa is a challenge, but worth the view and satisfaction ! Huts are comfortable, we were fortunate to be a group of 5 only, all got our own room. Food... More

Was pleasantly surprised that each day had something different to offer. The 3 mountains we climbed were very different and we were lucky enough to have fantastic views from the top. The guides are fantastic and food, wine and company were first class. It was our first multi day hike and we will definitely do more. Will be hard to... More

On the 23rd December three of us headed off to spend Christmas with total strangers on the Overland. From the initial meeting at Quamby our guides and driver were friendly, helpful and humorous. Our little band headed off on our 6 day adventure with little more than a shared love of getting away to the great outdoors in common. By... More

Just came offf the Overland track yesterday after a wonderful 6 days. We are a group of 5 friends who enjoy the outdoors and have all completed quite a few short and longer hiking trips. This trip absolutely ticks ALL the boxes! Knowledgable, friendly and very obliging guides, great food, comfortable accommodation and spectucalr scenery. Rob and Nick ensured that... More

The Cradle Mountain Huts Walk with the Tasmania Walking Company was outstanding. The guides were very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The food and accommodation excellent. The walk was challenging but not too difficult for someone who exercises regularly. The scenery was very beautiful. Excellent value. I can't recommend it highly enough. A trip of a lifetime: unforgettable.

Finished the 6 day walk today and it was amazing. So many positives about this walk. The pristine and scenic wilderness, the comfortable huts, the delightful company and the remarkable guides. My husband's boot started to come apart on the first day and a minor disaster was averted as Tom used cable ties to provide effective repairs that got him... More

This was an experience never to be forgotten. The guides were knowledgeable, patient, humourous and encouraging which made the walk (sometimes in snow, mud, water and on all fours) one of the most enjoyable experiences available on this planet. If you love the environment and have a reasonable level of fitness, this walk will challenge and thrill you. There is... More

I was a little apprehensive about this walk as it would be my first with a heavy-ish pack but if you're reasonably fit, you should be fine. Cradle Mountain Huts (CMH) is probably the most comfortable way of walking the Overland Track as you don't have to carry tents, sleeping bags and food, so that's quite a bit of weight... More

I was lucky enough to do this trip in January 2015, and to repeat the experience, this time with my wife, in December 2015 (and would happily do it again!). Our guides Jen, Nick and Kat were knowledgeable, friendly, ever-cheerful and patient, and looked after us all very well. A full complement of 10 walkers who all got on very... More
