Hike completed on 19 Feb 2015 - very well organised, good guides, great experience and good fun, beautiful scenery, mostly good weather. Need reasonably good level of fitness for walking and uphill/downhill hiking. Pack weight on average was about 12Kgs.

We undertook this walk in February with two very experienced guides Shelley and Kat. The small group of 10 ensured that overall the walk was both a shared as well as being a very personalised experience. The huts are welcoming and comfortable and along with the cabable culinary and first aid skills of Shelly and Kat all combined to revive... More

We did the Overland walk in February 2015. It was a fabulous experience, we had great guides (Kenna and Christine) who were very knowledgable about the walk, local geology, geography, flora, the conditions, great cooks and excellent at first aid! We walked with my husband who has severe visual impairment - the guides were encouraging and helped him achieve a... More

Hi Ruth D, Thanks so much for your review – it sounds like everyone had a great walk with you and your husband. So pleased that walking the overland track was a dream for you both and it all worked out so well with the support of your guides Kenna and Christine. I think having to carry only your personal... The most physically straining, challenging and rewarding days off my life. With views worth a million dollars to too it off. You see mountains of a rare breed and the variety of landscape from grasslands to rainforest and bush to rivers and lakes.

With only day walks as experience of hiking I have to say the 6 day overland track was a challenge. The track was rougher than I expected so therefore wishing from the start that I was fitter than I was. Our guides James and Geraldine were amazing, they took care of our every need, a very professional team. Previous reviews... More

Hi Tonania O, Thanks for taking the time to review your time with Cradle Mountain Huts on TripAdvisor – we appreciate it. The Overland Track can be challenging, particularly if this is your first multi day walk, as you said the fitter you are the more enjoyable it is. Both James and Geraldine are amazing and I am so pleased... More

We started the walk on 28th January with Will and Lauren as guides. The park is amazing. Photos do not do it justice. The huts are great, drying rooms and hot showers. Will and Lauren are exceptional guides and great hosts...a pleasure to spend time with. A really well run experience on all counts. Robyn

Hi Robyn, Thanks for your review on TripAdvisor – we appreciate it. Sounds like overall you had a great time with both Will and Lauren. The park is amazing and you are right it is hard to take photos which do it justice. We hope to see you back down this way at some point in the future. Cheers, Ros More

What an adventure! I hadn't hiked more than a few hours at a time but somehow decided to throw myself into a 6-day hike. The guides Nick and Joe were great! Fun, knowledgeable, and encouraging. The food was great and the huts comfortable, it was really great to be able to climb into a bed after a long day of... More

Husband and I in our sixties had a great time on the Overland Track walk. Having Bert and Anna as guides made it all the more special. They are super! Experienced, knowledgeable, patient and extremely friendly. Optional climbs for the fit and daring, comfortable lodgings, plentiful food, hot showers, and the walk itself was varied and interesting. On top of... More

I walked the six day Overland Track with Cradle Huts departing on the 28th Jan 2015. I can vouch for previous TripAdvisor reviews that highly praised the spectacular Tasmanian wilderness, the comfort of the private huts, the freshly baked delicious scones, the gourmet three course dinners, and the glorious warm showers at the end of each day's walk. These were... More

Hi Nathan, Thanks for your lovely TripAdvisor review – we really appreciate it. So often people comment on the scenery, food, comfort of the huts…but overwhelmingly it is our guides that are the most memorable element of the walk. Both Will and Lauren are exceptional and are definitely fantastic guides and hosts – I am so pleased you appreciated their... More
