I recommend not staying the night, you can totally enjoy the Park arriving early (8am) and leave in the afternoon. The night trek is nice but the hotel is so disgusting (old, humidity, coackraches, spiders, rats, don't touch the matters if you can...) that it's better to find another place to make a night activity

We stayed overnight & had pre-booked our stay at the Forest Lodge Terrace Type 5. The cost? RM100 (USD26) per night. I have to admit after reading TripAdvisor's poor-mediocre review about the park's overall hostel lodgings, I was a bit apprehensive about what we had gotten ourselves with. After all, the angmoh backpackers have paid such a nominal fee, so... More

My husband and I, we went to Bako for a day trip and we regret not being able to stay there over night. We took the red #1 bus to Bako which departs at 7,8,9.. etc am. We took it in the Burger stop (yes, that's the bus stop) next to the River Bank suits in the waterfront. Try to... More

Bako NP is a great place! Beautiful nature and active wildlife! The hostel is basic, but all you need. Beds are fine to sleep well and you have a shower to refresh yourself. But when you look for a luxurious hotel, don't go. Do you love nature and can survive with some basics, then go! There are drinks, beers and... More

We stayed in two types of accomodation - type 5 and hostel. Type five was very nice, airy and pretty clean. Hostel room was small (toilet & bathroom shared with other rooms), but there were only two of us (instead of four), so it was still acceptable. Considering price range and the fact that it is national park I think... More

Didn't really get off to a good start with this place as when we booked it, direct with the national park office, the lady was rude and unhelpful. Local bus is easy to get & cheap. When we arrived at the boat terminal we were told that the next boat was at 2pm (we got there at 1130) we were... More

We recently spent 3 nights in the park in a Type 6 house, which was dark and dank, with a rotten floorboard and drippy toilet- although the passing proboscis monkeys, monitor lizards and pigs made up for it. We tried to upgrade to the 3X as expensive Type 4 house but was told it was reserved (although no one ever... More

There were nothing else but four beds, two fans, shower and a toilet in our room. Still we did just fine in there for the night. Monkeys will try to come in the rooms, so keep the door closed at all times. the table and the chairs outside were broken. it would have been nice to sit on the terrace,... More

Bako NP is a nice place to visit for a night stay. I was there from Oct 29 to Ot 30 2014, with my hubby and a 5 yr old. I would like to highlight a few important points here initially and than express my views .... - do book the accommodation inside the NP on ur own , link... More

We spent three nights here last week and had a really great time! I was surprised how easy it was to get here, even when arriving on a Sunday, everything just seemed to go so smoothly. The accommodation is very basic and is in desperate need of a good clean. This didn't really bother us too much though and neither... More
