The jug and glass is a lovely cosy inn with cosy rooms. The pub does food that is very good. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was great we had full English and scrabbled eggs with smoked salmon. A good vegetarian alternative.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch after discovering the Jug & Glass is under new management. Had roast pork, stuffing, roast and new potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli and Yorkshire pudding. The Yorkshires were a bit overcooked and rubbery. Also think that a glass of house white wine at £5 a glass is expensive. Probably will not go again.

The owners could not have been more helpful and kind. They have recently taken over at the Jug and Glass and have refurbished rooms and seem to be building up a nice hotel. Countryside was beautiful. Will be back!

Returned to the the Jug & Glass for a meal after the last tenants moved on to find a new team behind the bar and the kitchen. The new team have started very well revamping the beer and the menu, we chose the pate to start and whitebait the which were both first class followed by the Salmon and the... More

As noted by a recent reviewer on the alternate/duplicate tripadviser listing for this establishment "the old managers could just never be bothered and it showed" - which despite this being our "local" we had stopped visiting 4 or 5 years ago. It is now being run by the owner (the previous managers were tenants) so we thought we'd give it... More

My third visit to the Jug and Glass while staying with friends nearby. Standards have definitely improved since my last visit at Christmas. Great atmosphere, was made to feel very welcome and good choice of beer. The kitchens were being re-fitted so I couldn't sample the food, I understand they are re-opening for Easter. Looking forward to my next visit.

Just had Sun lunch after a walk. The pork roast dinner was great value and few people will finish it. Plenty of meat, roast and mashed potato, Yorkshire pud and 5 different vegetables. Beer was pretty good too. Will definitely plan another walk around the pub.

We have stayed here before, and enjoyed our stay so much we went back. A lovely cosy pub with a real log fire. We had a different room to our prior stay, (each room is individually furnished, making it very homely and not at all like a generic hotel room) it was still lovely and comfortable and we slept well.... My partner booked for my birthday,on the 10 november on arrival we greeted by a very pleasant landlord, who even though it was to early for the room and the pub was very, he straight away offered to show us to our room. We decided to have a drink and lunch first, the food and the service was top notch,... More

We stayed here for two nights. The pub is nice and cosy with open fires and good real ales. The evening meals we had were very nice as were the breakfasts. The room was quite comfortable although the bathroom could have been improved with a few tile repairs. Our main gripe was with the lack of service quality; we had... More
