Our annual trip to stay at the Jug and Glass with our gang of 7 and it was such a good experience as always. The pub is so full of character and the staff go out of their way to ensure you have a good time. The rooms are comfortable, clean and have everything you need for a break away.... More

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of November for a quiet break before Christmas. The staff were fantastic and the 2 young people who manned the bar on Thursday and Friday nights were outstanding. The pub was quite busy on the Friday night but the staff ensured smooth running. Our room was clean, warm and quiet and although... More

Arrived on a Sunday. Quiet, but cosy. The draught beer was welcome after a long drive. The staff couldn't have been more friendly. Stayed in room 2, which I think might be the best room - spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was tremendous and we left determined to come back again. Highly recommended!

We booked this venue at the very last minute and just turned up without reviewing it.I say in all my reviews that my wife and I prefer to stay in pubs rather than hotels and the Jug and Glass is exactly that.It is set on the side of a B road in a row of small terraced houses.Inside it is... More

Arrived in Lea quite unexpectedly, thought Sally Satnav had been drinking again!!"! " Arrived at destination" We had expected to be at Matlock!! So pleased we werent. This is a proper village hostelry. We were shown to our immaculate room up in the roofspace, small but more than adequate. En suite in the corner also immaculate. Slight problem with the... More

Myself and my wife stayed here for two nights last month after reading the reviews about the place. Great place for walking, and the landlady was very friendly and informative about the area. The room was small, but very clean and comfortable. The pub served very good beers with polite friendly bar staff. Breakfast was very good, we didn't have any... More

The accomadation was clean and well presented. It is a listed building and our room was small but this did not spoil our stay. All the staff were polite friendly and helpful. The food was excellent with a good choice of food. The meat was all local and very good. and good value for money. Good location to Matlock bath. Tram... More

A friendly inn with some very well kept and drinkable ales . Splendid. The bar service was supported by very good food and decent breakfast. The accommodation was a tad cramped but adequate for purpose and options to alter are bound by the historic status of the premises. A very pleasant stay indeed.

Decided to try this place for lunch. Friendly pleasant staff and cosy pub. Had two steak pies chips and peas and although it was nice it was nothing special and we certainly did not feel it deserved the price of £10:95 per meal. The pastry was soft as if it had been warmed in a microwave and the chips were... More
