I had two nights stay recently and was disappointed to find that the place simply did not match up to my visit last year. The food was unimaginative with no evidence or fresh herbs, vegetables or gravy not made from a packet. The food seemed to have been reheated. Since there was no evidence of fresh vegetables or herbs I consider... More

Really friendly, genuine people, lovely pub with food that was always good and in several cases superb. Best of all it was so, so clean. The old J&G had a more lived in feel which you could decide to call charming, but it took an effor sometimes. This is professionally run and really doe the village proud I'd say.

I really don't like to give a bad review but this was really disappointing. A group of 10 of us went out for sunday lunch here based on the reviews as seen on tripadvisor. We were very much welcomed and the pub is cozy and tradition. The menu looked really nice, even good vegi options! Then it all went wrong.... More

My wife & I spent two excellent nights here. The hospitality by Gill, Roy & their staff was first rate added to which our room was comfortable & warm. The selection of real ales was really good and the food was excellent, with a superb lasagne plus a 'hanging' chicken kebab that were to die for, well done to the... More

Stayed here for 2 nights recently and found the inn to be welcoming and of good quality in both b&b and food. It has a certain rustic charm and the ale, dinner and breakfast were all of good quality. The staff were very pleasant and efficient making it a very enjoyable stay. We were in one of the rooms in... More

Stayed for four nights. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean room and bathroom. One tiny snag, the shower had been disconnected due to a problem. I was allowed to use a shower in another room. If you want a shower ask for any room other than three. The food is absolutely excellent, and the staff cannot do enough for you. The... More

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night. The Inn is full of character, and we were given a very warm welcome by the landlord who is a lovely, cheery chap! Good range of real ales which my husband really appreciated. Our room was very clean, comfy bed and duvet, and a clean en suite. Breakfast was lovely, and... More

Had the pleasure of drinking and eating at the Jug and Glass recently. Whilst I am not a new visitor to the pub, each time I visit the experience is different. Last night was a mix of locals and residents and a large party eating and drinking in the restaurant. The service was once again exceptional with the bar staff... More

I popped in The Jug and Glass for a quick pub lunch with my mother today, I know this pub very well as a friend and her parents used to run it. Myself and my mother ordered two jacket potatoes, 1 with chilli and 1 with chilli and cheese. After waiting 35 minutes, yes 35 minutes for a jacket potato,... More

Excellent stay at the Jug & Glass. Great food, very comfortable and very hospitable. A real credit to Jason, his family and his staff. The high point was the Sunday night folk evening, a regular event, where those present displayed great talent and great humour. Will definitely be returning at some stage in the future.
