Personally I can find no fault with this camp. The experience is beyond words. if you just want to see animals in every direction then I suggest the masi mara is your best place. however if you are looking for peace and tranquilty and a real sense of the Samburu area then I cannot recommend Saruni Samburu enough. Wonderful manager... More

Located inconspicuously on a hilltop overlooking the 95,000ha Kalama Reserve, the Saruni Samburu is one of life's spectacular luxury lodges. With early morning views of the distant Mount Kenya, the lodge offers a panoramic and stunning view of the surrounding Samburuland. The lodge/hotel - I really don't know what to call it because of its intimate size - boasts luxury... More

This is one of those properties that you would like to give "5 stars". However, there are "geographic issues" that take the rating back a notch. The physical location is just stunning. Spectacular location high on a bluff looking out on the woodland, the mountains and on a clear day (which we had) Mt Kenya. The downside, the rooms face... More

We visited Saruni Samburu in Sep 2011 as the 2nd stop on our honeymoon. Staying in the large family villa away from the main lodge it was a incredible experience. From our greeting at the runway by Chris and Simon through to our send off there is not a second of this trip that we could fault. The accommodation perched... More

We stayed for two nights to see if we could take it in our portfolio and YES we certainly do. A unique design is what sets this camp apart. Also very friendly and knowlegable staff. Rooms are huge and nicely decorated. It also offers some lovely family rooms. Nice pool and once again lovely views. It takes a bit of... More

My husband and I with our three teenage children stayed here in December in a family villa. It was absolutely fabulous! The lodge is perched high on a cliff overlooking the Kalama reserve with the most beautiful far reaching views you will ever see. Accommodation is in huge canopied structures with large bedrooms and sitting room, beautiful bathrooms and outdoor... More

My husband and I have just returned from a 7 night stay in Kenya. We spent three of our nights at the Saruni Samburu and had a wonderful stay. Location: Saruni Samburu is set in beautiful surroundings. We were able to enjoy stunning views from our private terraces, including the occasional animal wandering around, Samburu semi-nomadic herders with their cattle... More

The accommodation here really is top notch. Spacious and comfortable, with each of the rooms looking out across the wonderful landscape. I particularly liked the large bathroom with an outside shower, perfect! These types of safari lodges are so well run that it almost seems churlish to offer up any criticism, but here goes… I think I’m probably in the... More

Thank you very much for your very positive comments. Your comments are noted on food and probably we want to try some buffet lunches to give more chances to choose less substantial food. On Kalama wildlife: yes, you are right that for serious gameviewing Samburu (and Buffalo Springs) are still the best, but in 3 years we have seen a... More

You cant go wrong when you stay in this camp.wow! All i can say is that we had a lovely time and there is nothing that beats this wilderness. I have been to good lodges in Kenya but this one is far most the best we stayed in although it was just a short time. Hats of to my tour... More

Thanks to Ricardo's vision and the amazing Job of his team we spent three unforgettable and amazing nights in Saruni Samburu. For everyone who wants to escape from every day life and is ready to experience something unique this is the place to be. The guides, the food (of course italian like the owner) and the service are exceptional. But... More

Many thanks for this and, yes, it took some guts for all of us as a team to imagine and build this lodge. Now that is is here and it is providing so many of us with happy days, we take pleasure in comments like yours. The hard work has just began and we want to keep improving! Thank you... More
