While traveling in Costa Rica with my family this summer, we had to edit our itinerary thanks to super heavy rains on the Caribbean side of the country. We are so lucky to have connected with the amazing team at Rios Tropicales! We spent one night here (with kids ages 4 and 8) and it was an experience of a... More

Absolutely amazing! The overnight trip was the highlight of our 10 days in Coasta Rica. Read all the reviews, they are spot on. Great guides, fantastic white water, safe equipment, good food, and very cool Eco Lodge. I traveled in a party of 4 women. 2 teens and two 40+ moms, we aren't especially athletic or experienced, but with our... More

If you are looking for a fun, peaceful, romatic, meditative, exciting, relaxing, full of nature trip, Rios Tropicales is all that and more. My husband and I had the best time there. The staff was helpful, knowledgeable, engaging, fun, and just plain nice. We plan to go back there again and again.

The white water rafting down the Pacuare River is a well known highlight of a trip to Costa Rica. However many people do this trip as a one day event and miss out on the special opportunity to spend a night or two at Rios Tropical Lodge. The lodge is a true gem in the jungle-- simple but elegant. We... More

Unbelievable is too mild of a term. Our guides were fantastic, the river was one adrenaline rush after another. The food was simple - this is hard to pull off. These simple foods were fresh and just made your tongue succumb to greatness. Any chef will tell tell you, simple is by far the most difficult cooking there is. These... More

We had a very nice stay and the hole package was good. Very good structure and organized. Food was nice. Our guide Otto did a very nice job and really explained about animals and the jungle. You have to do the horseback riding. The evenings was fun w good food and drinks w nice people.

This operation is top notch. The Rios team are professional, educated and experienced. You feel safe and have a blast. It was truly an adventure that I will never forget. I fell out of the raft twice! Holy Crap. It was kind of scary because i was out of my very controlled element, but because of the education about safety... More

Myself along with my boyfriend and another couple did the overnight rafting of the Pacuare river. The lodge is more than I could have imagined. We had the deluxe room, which costs $30pp extra but was totally worth it. I got a look at the standard rooms and ours was 100x nicer. Our room faced the river, was extremely clean... More
