This operation is top notch. The Rios team are professional, educated and experienced. You feel safe and have a blast. It was truly an adventure that I will never forget. I fell out of the raft twice! Holy Crap. It was kind of scary because i was out of my very controlled element, but because of the education about safety... More

Myself along with my boyfriend and another couple did the overnight rafting of the Pacuare river. The lodge is more than I could have imagined. We had the deluxe room, which costs $30pp extra but was totally worth it. I got a look at the standard rooms and ours was 100x nicer. Our room faced the river, was extremely clean... More

The warm and friendly staff, the knowledge of the guides (gracias Ricardo & Jonathan), and the spectaclar scenery made our first Costa Rica rafting trip excellante! The CABIN was basic but very comfortable and clean. No bugs but very little wild life was observed. We highly recommend this adventure for class 3 & 4 rapids in dry season. Over all... More

We just returned from costa rica. And did the rio tropicaes 3 day white water trip and lodge. Wife and i always looked forward to this particuler trip as part of our costa rica trip. We have done this trip at least 7 times and always loved it. This year however was a very disappointing trip. Nothing seemed to go... More

Thanks a lot for your review and your constructive criticism , I will look into your reservation and find out what may have happened, management is working hard to keep the slack as thight as posible, and there really is no reason to have had mayor glitches. More

Its simple, beautiful and amazing. The rooms are everybit as small as you have read. But, its a 'lodge'. The accomodations are not the RItz, nor are the prices. What's important about this place is that its 1/2 way down the river for the 2 day rafting trip, which was spectacular, even at the beginning of the 'dry' season. Johathan,... More

If you like staying in a basic dorm (small single beds) with screens that hardly keep the bugs out and like having no hot water than you will love it! Otherwise the guides truly go out of their way to make you feel at home and be somewhat comfortable. They cook all your meals, and it was pretty good for... More

We started our trip in Costa Rica with the Pacuare River 3 day adventure in March 2014 and it was beyond our expectations. It was the best part of our trip and we cannot stop telling our friends to try it out. The river and the surroundings are beyond beautiful. Day 1 was a relaxing raft into the resort. We... More

The Rios Tropicales overnight rafting trip and accommodations at the lodge were the highlight for our family of five. We loved the rafting and especially loved the setting, scenery and tranquility at the lodge. Our guide, Ricardo, was amazing and as part of our overnight stay, we took advantage of Ricardo's guided hike and swim at the natural waterslide. We... More

We booked the 4-Day-Trip with a 3 day stay at the lodge in August 2014. The minibus picked us up at the Hotel in San Jose. At the river, we met our guide, Otto. He took care of us for the following 4 days, like a nurse :-) He was the boss in the boat, he cooked tasty meals for... More

I can't say enough about our guides--Vernie, Juan Carlos, Leo and Alex. There were experts at everything---rafting, cooking, zip-lining, nature. Plus they were warm, friendly and funny. They were most capable on the river and were "right there" for the few who fell in. We were in good hands. The lodge is magnificent. The rooms, although simple and small, were... More
