It was four of us and we agreed on the fantastic lunch we had here!!!! The pub has a typical english country pub atmosphere that we really love. The food was gorgeous, tasty and very well presented!!! We will recommend The Peacock Pub to everyone who love England!!

Busy sunday lunchtime but able to accommodate table for 2, good food, great service, reasonable price for 2 courses. Lovely cosy pub, real fires, you can't determine interior from the outside. Would definitely recommend and will return.

Not pretentious on any level. This is a traditional old English country pub and the food is home cooked hearty fare. My steak and suet pudding was wonderful with tender non fatty beef and winter root vegetables. My guest had lambs liver bacon and onion gravy. She said it was delicious and had enough left over to feed her dog... More

We visited the Peacock Inn for a Saturday lunch with my parents in their 80s, we had booked a table by phone, but they did not recall the booking made three hours before. We had a poky table, which actually blocked access to other tables so my Father was constantly disturbed by the waiting staff. Firstly, the menus were inaccurate,... More

We visited the Peacock again in October, on our recommendation to friends celebrating a birthday on a Sunday. One friend is in a wheelchair, and the publican gave a lift to get the chair up the steep step on a path up to the rear door. Our friends had already organised a bottle of champagne, the real thing, on arrival.... More

Went for dinner on a Fridsy evening. Service was great. Steaks locally sourced which were wonderful. Food was well cooked and the menu offered good selection. The wine choice was also very good. Would thoroughly recommend a visit. We went for our date night and will definitely be returning,

The location of this Inn in the beautiful quiet village of Chelsworth is great for visiting Suffolk. The room was really comfortable though not ensuite but you had a private bathroom and loo close by. The food was excellent and the staff really friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to fellow travellers.

A beautiful, atmospheric pub located in a village close to Lavenham and Long Melford which is ideal if you are touring the area. We stayed the night in a well appointed bedroom and had access to our own bathroom which was well equipped with toiletries and towels - both rooms are sympathetically decorated and furnished. We were meeting relatives who... More

Dinner was very nice, chosen from a tempting varied menu. After a long and busy day we were grateful for a comfortable bed in a lovely room. It was the kind of room you would expect in a period property but well appointed and clean. The bathroom was a separate room but had everything that you might need. A very... More
