Dinner was very nice, chosen from a tempting varied menu. After a long and busy day we were grateful for a comfortable bed in a lovely room. It was the kind of room you would expect in a period property but well appointed and clean. The bathroom was a separate room but had everything that you might need. A very... More

Saturday night supper, good friendly pub a varied selection of home made dishes, a real good wholesome pub with top quality food. Never had a bad meal yet ,generous portions also so can only ever manage a main course. I had liver and bacon loads of gravy mash and veg. Just like mum used to make

This pub was recommended to us by our b&b so we thought we would give it a try. We were not disappointed. We ordered scampi & chips and the liver & onions with home made bubble& squeak. Both meals were well cooked and tasty. Obviously a pub popular with the locals and tourists alike.

Definitely not our cup of tea! We stayed here one night and chose this inn after reading the TA comments. This inn may be quaint, but it is not comfortable for us. The room is small, the floors lean, making you feel as if you were on a boat., there is no place to hang your clothes. But, what really put us... More

A sudden decision to go out for an evening meal last Friday, no reservation made but we were made very welcome and seated at a table for four, so plenty of room for us two. A good menu plus fresh specials on a board gave us plenty to choose from. We ordered duck, and a fresh crab salad. Complimentary olives... More

Just had a meal at The Peacock Inn and had to write a review as the food was superb. The steak suet pudding, mash and veg was simply perfect. Friendly, welcoming staff who were more than happy to package up the leftovers for a doggy bag, will definitely visit again.

After many years I returned to The Peacock this week. It has always been a pleasant pub in the lovely, picturesque village of Chelsworth. The beer garden is laid back, well thought out and in the summer is simply perfect for a drink. I haven't stayed in the rooms upstairs but after a quick glance through the other reviews I... More

From the moment we arrived on a Friday afternoon, until departure Sunday morning, we could not fault the Peacock Inn.The smell of woodsmoke from the fire in the main bar, as we walked in to a warm and friendly welcome, from both staff and locals, set the tone for this old Inn which is just beautiful. Rooms are lovely, with... More

My husband and I stayed here over Easter weekend. The welcome was warm and friendly. Our room was lovely (don't be put off by lack of ensuite, the bathroom was right outside and robes were provided ). We had a delicious meal in the restaurant and spent the rest of the evening chatting with staff and locals at the bar.... More

It is great that you can still find outstanding places to eat in small village in the Suffolk countryside. The Peacock Inn produces great food, a large selection of beers and wine, and a welcoming atmosphere. Well worth a visit.
