We stayed here for one night whilst attending a family wedding in Wales. The room was very cosy and the beds were one of the most comfortable in which I have slept in my life! We stayed in one of the smaller rooms, which was very small and we would recommend paying a bit more for the bigger one. Wifi... More

Four of us spent four wonderful days in this little gem tucked away in the Vale of Clwyd, visiting from Canada. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, Helen and Colin and their young staff members. Meals were excellent and the selection of single malt scotches great. I can't think of a nicer place to stay anywhere!

Always a warm and friendly welcome from the owners, staff and locals. If you want a relaxed atmosphere, great beer (often local) and a good wholesome feed then this is the place to go. Surrounded by stunning views this is an amazing place.

We walked over , Moel Famau to this lovely little pub . The food is spot on and if you like large portions you won't be disappointed . They allow dogs in the bar . It was a struggle back up the hill after our large dinner .

We booked both rooms for a visit to friends performing at the Clywd Theatr Cymru. Whilst it was slightly more remote from the theatre than Laterooms had led us to believe, it was more than worth the drive. The owners looked after us very well and nothing was too much trouble. Whilst we only used it as a base for... More

Arrived after a ten hour drive from Plymouth after breaking down on the way. We were instantly made welcome and on mentioning our dilemma we inundated with phone numbers and contacts details of local garages and mechanics to help sort our car problems! Any way problems sorted on to the Inn..... Colin and Helen own and run a very nice... More

Warm, snug, cosy Inn. Welcoming great food deals. Loved the spa bath in the large bedroom, so needed after a hard day's walking the path through the Clwydian Hills. Malcolm and Helen were very helpful with drying our wet clothes and collecting us from the Path at the end of our day's slog! Very recommendable!

Convenient to Offa's Dyke path, the welcome on our arrival was warm and friendly and the accommodation found to be very good value, being both spacious and nicely presented. We enjoyed the meals we chose, immensely and our Hosts and their staff were charming and attentive. The pub was pleasantly lively during the evening, but there was no noise at... More

The Golden Lion (Goldie) is a small, ivy covered country pub on the flanks of the Moel Fammau range. It's elevation provides beautiful views of the Vale of Clwyd from the beer garden at the rear and it sits on a quiet country lane, more used by cyclists and walkers than by cars. Just as important, it is a CAMRA... More
