We stayed here on our second night along The Offa’s dyke Path. The hotel is in a very quiet village and is full of character. The room was very spacious and had a huge en-suite. Great value for money. The pub menu was comprehensive with quite a few reasonably priced curries available. Also the bitter was well kept. The locals... More

We stayed for one night as i was competing at a local horse show. After travelling from Manchester and settling the horse into his accommodation we arrived after 9pm. We had missed the cut off time for the evening meal but Helen was lovely and went out of her way to cook us both our tea! Highly recommend and is... More

We have recently stayed for two nights at this lovely pub. The rooms were beautifully clean with all the amenities and super comfortable beds. Breakfasts were excellent, nicely served and perfectly cooked. Colin and Helen are charming hosts and made us feel very welcome....we shall certainly be back to stay in this little gem.

Travelling along Offa's Dyke and the Golden Lion is a must stop along the way with few B&Bs nearby otherwise. However, it is also a beautiful pub with spacious clean rooms and really helpful staff. I had stupidly not brought a map (just using a travel book) and coming off the OD course led to quite a lot of confusion... More

We spent one night at the Golden Lion Inn which was the closest accommodation to the Offa's Dyke walking path for that night. This Inn is roughly 1.75 miles from the trail but it was worth the descent. A very clean Inn which served good beer and an excellent breakfast. In the morning the Landlord offered to drive us to... Gorgeous camping field at the back ideal for our Youth Club D of E group - downside was that they had to use the pub toilets but think this will be put right soon An execellent stay at a good price... A warm welcome - stayed on bed and breakfast basis - clean, comfortable bedrooms. Could also see that the facilities allowed for happy campers too. Ate dinner at pub on both evenings of stay - a good and varied menu. Setting beautiful, hosts helpful and accommodating. Although were in the area visiting a poorly relative area provides great scope for... More

We had supper and stayed here. The bedroom was good value, clean and comfortable (£68). The food at supper was very good value pub food, well cooked, from good ingredients and very fairly priced to give excellent value for money.
