Stayed here August 7th to 12th ,we had already stayed in a remote Gite near Saumer to do sight seeing with my partner and two children aged 10 and 13, we had booked on line cash on arrival but what sold this accommodation for me and the kids was the pool ,which after 5 days of walking and sight seeing... It is unfortunate that you found the few days that you had booked unsatisfactory but I would like to address each of your points as follows:- 1. With regard to the pool, this has been undergoing maintenance for a prolonged period which primarily has been delayed by the inclement weather which, as I am sure you will appreciate is beyond... We came her on the recommendation of friends who have been here every summer for 10 years and we were not disappointed! A beautiful part of the Loire Valley and a lovely, relaxed, friendly and informal 2 weeks was had by all. Our accommodation was spacious, comfortable, clean and fitted out in a rustic French style. We spent the days... More

We stayed here in the summer. John and Helen were both very friendly and we ate some very nice meals with them. The accommodation was lovely and spacious, and we enjoyed using the pool (although it was very cold!). We were also able to use the WiFi sitting outside - which is lovely in the French summer - or from... More

We recently stayed for a week whilst touring on our motorbike. John and Helen are very good hosts, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We were fortunate with the weather despite it being the end of September and had some lovely warm sunny days and evenings, managing to sit in the courtyard sampling the local wines. The gite we were... More

The gites are around a courtyard where families/groups can sit and eat and play boule. The Larders are superb hosts, for whom nothing is too inconvenient. The pool is welcome in the heat and a lovely setting to relax. The bakers is a short 3 minute walk to collect bread. There is a small children's play area and a grassy... More

Stayed here for a week with family and didn't want to go home! The location is beautiful, the accomodation is spacious and comfortable and the facilities include a well kept swimming pool. The family group ranged in age from 2 - 60's and La Croix Joreau catered for all of our interests. The owners, Helen and John, are very friendly... More

Five groups all related enjoyed a great time, the Larders encouraged us to party and were willing to join us in birthday celebrations. Many lovely sites and general holiday type things do do in the area. The Loire is a beutiful, and well known for its fine wines. I have already booked for this year. A home from home. Many... More

We keep going back! The whole amiance of the complex is brilliant - three sides with a courtyard in the middle. The accomodation is comfortable and the facilities on site are great - especially the swimming pool. The hosts make you veel very welcome and are always happy to suggest places to visit.
