The host is not very kindly, actually not kind at all. I think maybe to French people he is kind, bur not to foreigners.
They also put out the light at the stairs at night, so you have to tumble up the stars. Not very safe.

Inexpensive rooms all I think en-suite, friendly service, high quality food and even a small swimming pool. Hotel is on the main street which has been bi-passed both by a later N road and now by the A39, so it's very quiet. Staying there and wondering around the village is a real French experience.
