In the past we have stayed at this delightful hotel in Montignac on the Vezere and found it a sweet experience. I have to say that over the years we have had variable experiences in the restaurant: sometimes 'twee' and indifferent food and certainly overpriced. In April we were at the restaurant to celebrate a birthday. This visit was very different... More

While not luxurious, the room was comfortable, clean and had a view of the river. A bonus is the various sitting areas which make up for the small rooms. The spacious garden and pool area is also a plus. A good breakfast buffet. The staff were pleasant and courteous. Katia provided us with some good choices for evening meals. No... More

This hotel in a medieval square of half timbered houses is set in a lovely scented rose garden. Rooms are elegantly furnished with modern bathroom. We were lucky to be upgraded from a standard room to "Charlotte" deluxe room which had a flower decked balcony overlooking the square. Superb buffet breakfast. In the evening we enjoyed a glass of wine with... More

Set in the heart of Montignac, La Roserie is a haven of peacefulness, hospitality and fine food. This was our second visit and the staff were again extremely helpful and knowledgeable and were at pains to make our stay the best possible experience. Delicious and imaginative meals, beautiful riverside garden and swimming pool. A family run hotel offering a memorable... More

Mixture of antique and modern furnishings with sweeping stairs with steps at 'intesting' angles. Rooms named after famous French characters. Clean and comfortable rooms. Pleasant gardens adjacent to river and on the edge of a small quiet medieval square with parking infront of, or down the side of, the hotel property. Breakfast good including fresh fruit, cereals, breads, meats cheeses... More

We stayed here for night only on a motor biking trip to France. It was our favourite hotel of the trip and one we would definitely recommend to friends and return to ourselves. We wished we had booked it for longer! It is situated on a small square and looks like a large maison du maître and so it was... More

La Roseraie is a gorgeous old bulding full of antiques, set in a large garden full of roses and other beautiful plants. Our room was very comfortable, and others in our party had equally nice accommodations. Although the hotel apparently was fully booked, it was hard to tell, given the spacious living rooms throughout the building. The infinity pool was... More

We arrived very late and were still well received albeit with some fatique. Our named room was large and pleasant at the top of the hotel which luckily had an elevator (reluctantly used so late because of a desire not to disturb the other guests). With the mountain air the July breezes were cool through the windows and sleeping was... More
