Booked from an on line search and can only say that it was a very pleasant surprise. Initially B. and B. but then advised no breakfast but a very attractive room rate. Initally somewhat sceptical as we pulled into the car park and saw the scaffolding and associated builders clutter, then used the outside loos and was a little concerned... More

The title says it all. We spent a short stop over at the Carew Arms last week for walking. The countryside is glorious for walking, photography or cycling, but if you are not keen on any of these, then the Carew Arms will give you a warm welcome. The quaint pub has recently been refurbished and the rooms are now... More

How fantastic to find a truly traditional pub in a stunning setting! The Sunday roast at the Carew is second-to-none...no wonder it is fully booked every weekend!! The chef really knows what he is doing...keeping a good balance of high quality pub food and interesting and daring combinations. All staff go above and beyond the 'job spec' of a pub... More

The Carew Arms is one of those rare places where once found you want to keep it secret. But we won't, it would be unfair not to share this wonmderful experience with the rest of you. An authentic village inn, enthusiastically cared for by Kaaren, Jamie and their attentative, courteous staff. A real bar with its flagstone floor and huge... More

This is a lovely pub with good accommodation with en suite facilities. It's ideal if you're attending an event at Crowcombe Court but we'd also love to go back and spend the night in the cosy pub. Landlady full of life and good fun, breakfast superb although latest 9am on a Sunday was a bit too early for us.

After a little tumble on my bike, it was great to arrive at The Carew Arms and sit at a proper bar and have a good decent pint. The setting is fabulous, and the staff and owners are very cheerful and attentive. Dinner was very good accompanied by an excellent red. The bedroom was comfortable if a little tatty at... More

Whilst cycling down Crowcombe hill into the village I snapped a front spoke. We wobbled to the Carew Arms where morning coffee was advertised on a chalk board. The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. While preparing coffee (and some excellent home made cake!) we were offered use of the WiFi and telephone. The landlady even helped... More

We stayed at The Carew Arms last night and it was amazing - attentive service, pristine rooms and delicious food. Kaaren and her team, who took over a year ago, have transformed this place. Every effort was made to make sure we were comfortable - from running upstairs when our children locked themselves out of their rooms, to producing pudding... More
