We visited on the first day of our wedding anniversary celebrations and were suitably impressed. The service was attentive & quick; the food representative of the 2 rosettes awarded (fish & chips and a burger- the 3 way cooked chips were excellent especially as normally I am not a fan, but today I'm a convert!!!) any criticisms- not really, maybe... Everything about the Rose & Crown is excellent. The staff are the tops and most still arrived for duty through the deep snow. A surprise birthday treat found me in the dining room at the Rose and Crown with friends.I have visited this hotel before but only in the bar or bistro.The room, the service and the food were superb and there was not one complaint between the four of us, which is almost unheard of in these times of mediocrity...
