We were a party of ten trampers, venturing along the Queen Charlotte track from Endeavour Inlet to Anakiwa. Five of us camped at Camp Bay, and the other five stayed at Noeline's. She seemed happy enough with us being there, but her house is not well suited to having guests for a list of reasons: - her house is only... More

While not wanting to write a review which is negative, I feel an honest opinion is required here to give potential guests a realistic expectation. We were a group of five trampers, well used to staying in basic DOC huts, and are no strangers to roughing it while enjoying the great outdoors. However, our stay at Noeline's Homestay did not... Hot cross buns and a cup of tea on arriving! We were drenched from walking all day in the rain so arriving here was so perfect. Noelines even dried our shoes out overnight for us :) I think she said she was 83 and had been to 60 something countries and could probably tell you about each of them! (Very... More

The home is well positioned spotless and Noeline is an amazing hostess. She is pretty well a national gem and probably one of the best known local identities in that part of NZ. The Guardian newspaper wrote a column on her. She has worked as a cook on historic Molesworth Cattle Station (NZ's largest and now a national park), and... More

I stayed at Noelenes after my first day of walking the Queen Margaret Track. I found the first day harder than I was expecting and was near on exhausted by the time I got to Noelenes. Be warned its the furthest accommodation away from the camp site and at the end of a long day those extra 15 mins felt... More

We stayed with Noeline on New Year's Eve and were so tired after walking 27kms from Ship Cove, we just wanted a shower and bed. We were comfortable enough and felt welcome with Noeline. It's a fair walk and a narrow goat track at the end from Punga Cove to the house. If you have your luggage delivered by water... More

We stayed at Noelines on the second night walking the Queen Charlotte Track and would highly recommend this to anyone. The place is made by Noeline who is an incredible person, she is 82 and amazingly independent and interesting. She makes great scones as well

Staying in Noelines is truly a unique experience. The house and rooms are all functional, but not by any means salubrious. But it staying here worthwhile is the company. As others have said, it really is like staying with your Granny. To get the most from the experience, you really need to spend time talking to Noeline and hearing the... More

Arrived after our walk from Furneaux Lodge, Noelene was there to meet us with a welcomed cup of Tea and Scones, just what we needed after the walk up the hill. Great hospitality and reiterate the review by the previous reviewer. We all had great sleep, lots of talk and stories. A beautiful spot in the world. We were also... More

We were welcomed to Noeline's house with scones and tea and regaled with fascinating tales of life in the Sound, late life travel, local gossip, mellowed world views and more. The beds were warm and comfy and we kept soundly. A great stop on the track. Loved it.
