If you are looking for a family run, spotlessly clean, comfortable place to stay in fantastic countryside this is the place. Over the years my friends and I have stayed in all of the rooms and they are all beautifully decorated with fab showers and comfy beds. It's quiet so you wake refreshed and ready to eat a huge well... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in MARCH 2014. The room was a double with a beautiful shower en-suite . Jo rang us a few hours prior to stay, asking if I needed directions and any other requirements . The accommodation and decor was immaculate and very clean throughout. The breakfast was excellent, cooked to perfection and... More

Stayed for the weekend with my 2 year old son, Jacob. Received a helpful call from the owner, Jo a few days prior to stay, asking if I was sure of directions and any requirements I had etc. Room and en-suite bathroom were clean and tidy. Decor was attractive. Breakfast was smashing. Plenty of cereal, juice, fresh coffee and the... More

A lovely traditional farmhouse in a tiny, tiny village (which thankfully has a good pub almost opposite) surrounded by fabulous views. The room hubby and I stayed in was a double room with a shower en-suite but there was a bath available across the landing. Note that the owners kids use this too. Our room overlooked the road but it's... More

The farmhouse is a lovely typical old style English cottage with the odd conversion added on. The room we stayed in was en-suite with a shower but a bath was available across the landing. As with any traditional cottage the rooms are reasonably small but very well fitted and with a good attention to detail from Joanne. Rob is a... More

This is a clean, comfortable and quiet place. Ms. Bright takes a lot of care with her accommodations and the excellent full English breakfast each morning. Decent pub across the street for other meals and many more options just down the road. A gorgeous setting as well.

We really enjoyed our short stay at the Swinside Farmhouse B&B shortly after Christmas. The weather was terrible but our hostess, Jo Bright, helped us to make the best of it. The inn is small (3 rooms) and cozy and perhaps the cleanest B&B I have ever stayed in. The full English breakfast was first rate and the location is... More

Fantastic location in the heart of the Lake District. Comfortable room, excellent breakfast and warm hospitality. What more can you ask for. Oh yes, good weather! But had great time despite the rain. Looking forward to a return trip, hopefully in a dry spell.

We spent one night at Swinside Farmhouse following a walk around Buttermere, it is a really welcoming place with spotlessly clean & cosy well equipped bedrooms and the most delicious breakfast served by Jo who was really smiley and helpful, we will definitely return.
