We didn’t stay here but we did pay to use the pool for a few hours, so this review is only about the pool. They were asking 50,000 kip per person to use the pool, but as it was afternoon we managed to get them down to 40,000kip (less than US$5) each. The pool is an infinity pool overlooking the... More

Nice clean rooms, lovely pool! I stayed for 3 nights.. Beds and WiFi ok. Staff was terrible. They were to busy watching YouTube all together (with sound) in the restaurant.. They lay the menu closed at the corner of the table and then leave. Nothing to drink for 30 minutes.. Too busy chatting and laughing with YouTube. Don't speak any... More

Our team decided to stay at or near Pon Arena Hotel. 3 officers from our office stayed at Pon Arena Hotel and 2 local officers decided to stay at the more economical hotels near Pon Arena (which was also owned by Pon) We decided to stay at this hotel as it is relatively near Hatsaykoun and Versom villages Pon Arena... Stayed here for 4 nights. The main draw of this hotel is its lovely pool which overlooks the Mekong. It was really quiet when we visited and we pretty much had the entire pool and lounging area to ourselves for most of the day - which provided much needed downtime. There were plenty of crisp white beach towels as well.... More

Lovely place overlooking the river with nice infinity pool to cool off in. Stayed in room 202 which was opposite the reception area with a lovely view of the river from either the bed or balcony. Good sized very clean rooms with large bathroom (bath with shower over). Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Bed comfortable and good... More

Modern hotel. Well equipped and spotless rooms that are quiet and have comfortable beds. Infinity pool directly overlooking the Mekong. You need a river-view room as there are two parts to this hotel, one has rooms overlooking the pool and the Mekong river. There is also an annex across a dusty road that lacks the awe inspiring views. You need... More

Spacious simple rooms and bathroom. We had one of the rooms located on the terrace with a nice, small swimming pool. From the terrace the view at the Mekong and the surrounding hills is stunning. Only Wi-Fi (very slow) in reception and restaurant (not in the rooms). Very disappointing food (diner) and very simple breakfast. Excellent shower, very good bed.... More

There are two parts to this hotel. The expensive rooms overlook the pool and the river, the cheaper ones are over the road and don't really overlook much. We swam daily in the lovely pool, which was the main reason why we booked this hotel. There is another hotel with a pool but not as big nor with as good... More

Pon Areana is a little bit of luxury , but after a traumatic crossing into Laos from Cambodia, we thought we deserved it. The rooms are lovely, well kept linen changed daily, and a beautiful infinity pool overlooking the Mekong, where you can swim at sunset, or alternatively have a beerlao on one of the many terraces in the one... At the time of our stay access to the river was by small ferries only consequently the island was very quiet with little tourism. A bridge from the mainland is being built and once this is opened the nature of the island is very likely to change. The main building at Pon Arena Hotel is in a lovely position overlooking... More
