We stayed in a near by bed and breakfast and were recommended The Fleece Inn to have our evening meal. We were not disappointed. Initially the prices looked a little steep but once we had eaten our meals felt they were well worth it. Fresh food, very hot, very tasty and well presented. The service was good and staff attentive.... More

We visited the Fleece Inn on saturday the 23rd of August 2014 as we were staying nearby and it was within walking distance. I popped in for a pint in the afternoon, waiting patiently to be served the landlord who had seen me chose to serve someone who arrived after me who was ordering food.. I thought i'd give them... Criticism can be constructive and very helpful, unfortunately some one having a issy fit is not! We at the fleece find this review hurtful and untrue. This review was made by people that were happy to sit at our last table, albeit not the most comfortable, there meal was served quickly and they were checked on twice, replying that the... More

We visited with a couple of friends, and were lucky to be allowed to order food at just before 9 oclock, albeit a limited menu of pie or fish and chips. Nevertheless, we were served quickly and the food was well presented and delicious. The fish and chips were tasty and the batter crisp and the fish not overcooked. The... More

We were recently on holiday in Bishop Wilton and ate in the pub every night, the food was lovely, and plenty of it. The prices were very reasonable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it to friends.

We went to the Fleece Inn for a friend's birthday, we arrived on time and were shown to our table. Our orders were taken pretty quickly and we all ordered starters and mains, after waiting 45 - 50 mins, someone came and apologised for the delay, (we were all starving), and said our starters would be 2 mins, we waited... Thankyou for your response. We are sorry to hear that our service was not up to scratch for your visit, we do pride ourselves in this area and are upset to hear otherwise. I am sure the waiting staff were just trying to serve your main meals quickly, without further delay after your wait. Your delay was unfortunate, but these... More

I stayed here on my walking trip doing The Minster Way. It was half way so ideal. I arrived late but that wasn't a problem and with no fuse was shown to my lovely room, like a little bungalow with it's own front door. I was very pleased to see a large bath as I had been walking all day... More

Obviously a social centre for the community. Good range of beers. Lots of interesting prints on the walls. Does need redecoration as it must be a while since the last makeover. We were part of a party who had a buffet lunch which was very plain.

Thankyou for your response, I would just like to point out that the plain buffet was exactly as it had been ordered, nothing more nothing less, so perhaps comments should be sent to your organiser! More

We were visiting friends in Full Sutton and decided to stay somewhere nearby. Despite being quite last minute we were lucky enough to get a room at The Fleece Inn. Everything was wonderful. The room was spacious, clean and smelled lovely. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The bar was friendly and the food was fantastic. We will certainly... More

We went to The Fleece on the recommendation of the B and B where we were staying. We were offered a table even though they were obviously very busy. We both had pie, chips and vegetables. We have to say, that it was the best meal we have had in quite a while. The steak was melt in the mouth and... More

Popped in towards the end of our mini break in wolds edge lodges as I'd have enough of cooking by now. Friendly and efficient owners/managers. Had a lovely homemade steak and kidney pie, no frills but none needed. Loads of meat and nice crispy pastry. Plenty of tasty gravy. Chips were gorgeous and so many of them. Partners gammon looked...
