On a recent holiday to Yorkshire, we visited the Fleece Inn on two separate occasions. The Fleece is a tremendous country pub with very friendly staff, great food, a good selection of beer, and everything is very well priced. The staff were very helpful about giving us information on the local area and made us feel really welcome, as did... More

My wife & I stayed in a lodge for 2 nights in the village. The Fleece had been recommended to us so we booked a table for last night (Saturday). We arrived at 6pm and the bar & restaurant were quiet with all tables reserved so clearly a good sign. Staff were great and showed us to our table which... More

Great evening at the Fleece Inn. From start to finish it was a lovely experience with great service and great food and ale. I had the 12oz sirloin (medium rare), cooked beautifully which seems to be a rarity these days, with proper onion rings, mushrooms, tomato and chips. Others had the surf and turf with scampi and steak both delicious,... More

My friends and I stayed here for an overnight stop during our coast to coast cycle challenge. The pub itself is a lovely traditional Yorkshire village pub. The beers and wines we drank were fantastic and the decor of the pub was lovely with some really interesting pictures and artefacts on the walls. The food is home cooked and we... More

Just popped in with the family and our beagle for Sunday lunch. The fleece is very friendly and traditional pub. The lunches were big and meal was well presented. It was delicious. We had pudding afterwards as well. All in all a fm great experience and would recommend highly.

We were staying at a holiday cottage in Bishop Wilton, so this was our local for the week. We went for drinks a couple of times and sat in the beer garden which also has a grassy area for children to play. We also ate there twice in the evening. The food was good, good sized portions. On the Sunday... More

We planned a walk starting in Fangfoss so that we could sample The Fleece Inn at lunch having previously read the Tripadvisor reviews. Arriving at about 12.30pm we found The Fleece surprisingly quiet. We ordered some drinks and studied the menus. As we were planning a main meal in the evening the sandwiches with chips and garnish were ideal. Both... More
