Our room was cozy, comfy, and with all the luxuries of home. The bath products were awesome and the breakfast was diverse and yummy. The hotel was just a couple blocks from the main drag and the staff went out of their way to make sure we saw all the great sights in the area. It was very romantic and... More

This is the second time at this nice hotel, new name since last time. The lovely staf gave us the same room number 21 overlooking Almedalen and Östersjön. Clean room, friendly staf, after a long, long walk the afternoon tea was nice. We arrived late at night and although the reception was closed everything worked well, a code for the... More

Was here with my parents over Christmas. Our every need was attended, and the hotel was completely charming and festive over the week of our stay. The breakfast is phenomenal, and there was always tea and cookies available when we came in out of the cold. Location was very scenic and well placed close to the action. Would definitely stay... Very quaint hotel. Lots of history. Our room was small but we loved it. It had everything you could need. Very clean and updated. Excellent breakfast. The rates were very reasonable. The hotel clerk (Linnea sp?) was so helpful and very friendly. It's within walking distance to the ferry and the old town shops.

A very nice hotel, I felt very comfortable during my stay there. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was very rich, complementary tea and cookies. On the downside - my personal taste - I found the bed a bit too soft.

The hotel is situated very central in Visby. Our room had good standard including a minibar. The breakfast is also of good standard and the hotel staff are service minded.A couple of remarks. Our room didn't have any air condition. You might be disturbed of the traffic outside the hotel if you live in the ground floors .Finally the hotel doesn't have any... We took the ferry to Gotland in May. We really had no idea of where to go when we arrived, and received some general guidance from one of the stewards on board the ferry. We were carrying our own luggage, so were hoping the hotel wasn't far. It wasn't. From the terminal, find the prison and start uphill on the... More

we stayed 4 nights in June there and Slottsbacken was definitely our best pick on our 14 days journey through southern Sweden. The room could have been a bit bigger but it was definitey value for money. The staff was friendly and breakfast with good choice (delicious herrings), the location in the ancient part of Visby and near city center... More
