This hotel is not for the traveller who's looking for international big budget hotel standard. Instead it is a charming hotel, almost a little quirky, where one room is totally different from another. We stayed on the second floor and had to climb a quite steep staircase to get there since there is no lift. Be aware of this if... more

If you like the consistency of an international hotel, then the St Clemens is not for you. However, if you want a charming and friendly independent hotel, it would be hard to find anything better on Gotland. My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in August in a mini suite, costing 1650 SEK a night, which overlooked the... more

We liked this hotel. We stayed only for one night but would not hesitate to stay longer. Friendly staff and atomsphere. Good location, on the inside of the town wall and in a picturesque environment. Our room was fronted to a cobbled stoned street that was quite noisy when cars drove by. Although, that was not a big issue. The... more

The hotel is located within the medieval walls of Visby, adjoining one of the town's many ruined churches, after which it is named. In fact, the hotel garden has its own private entrance to the ruins! The setting and public spaces, including the garden and breakfast area, are lovely. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. For example, they went... more

Can't say enough about this property. Our two-night stay in a suite (138) was a highlight of our time in Sweden. + Suite had two separate rooms with skylights thoughout, a huge bathroom and a personal sauna that could accommodate 4 easily + Breakfast was a very nice typical offering served in a lovely, sunny room + Parking is available... more

We stayed at the St. Clemens for one night during a short trip to Visby. The location was fantastic, as it is inside the walled city of Visby, and it was a short cab ride from the airport. Our room, a double, was very small, but functional and basic. The shower, toilet and sink shared the same floor, so it... more

They were incredibly accomodating when I arrived half a day late. But when I had to extend my stay by a day as a result they rented me a room that had clearly been a utility closet, with a bathroom so aversive I declined to bathe. The location, inside walled, medieval Visby, is the best thing about it. If you're... more

We spent two nights here in August 2005 in a family room (4 person) and single. The hotel is built around two garden areas or courtyards and is quite peaceful and tranquil. The single was very small, but price was quite small as well. The family room had a queen bed with a separate sitting room with fold-out couch. Both... more
