Stunning hotel all made in medieval style. The decoration is 100 % medieval and it is like stepping into the Middle Age but still with all the services needed. Beautiful and really nice ambience. We visit this hotel every year during the annual Medieval Week in Visby - absolutely the one and only place to stay during that week and... More

Great location in the town of Visby, nestled in a residential area far enough away from the nightclubs and restaurants to guarantee a great night's sleep in their heavenly beds. We have stayed here three times now. The first time we stayed in the suite that has the four poster bed in the oldest part of the hotel that dates... More

All over our expecttions. Perfect location in Visby and the room was romantic with medieval details mixed with modern design. The spacious hotel garden was great where you could have your breakfast or coffee / tea in the afternoon or just read a book / newspaper in a peaceful atmosphere. Friendly staff, always helpful and positive. We really appreciated our... More

Hotel Helgeand is a medieval building in the northeast part of Old Town Visby, Gotland. The hotel is close enough to the action to walk to it, but far enough away that you don't have to listen to the action all night. It is furnished to look like a cute version of a castle (I doubt Medieval castles were this... More

Medeltidshotellet, or Helge Ands Hotel as it called now, is a small (17 rooms) hotel in Visby. Situated only a three minute walk from the center of Visby, it is close to shops and restaurants. The beds ar excellent. I have a back injury that demands even weight distribution, and I still slept like a king. The interior of the... More

This is a lovely hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The suite was spacious. The bath tub was a good size. The bed was very comfortable and breakfast was simple but good. I would definitely come back.

Rooms are clean, but small. The ' new ' owners are not people who should be running a hotel. They have some kind of personality disorder.. They are rude, and unable to discuss the simplest of things without getting angry and making strange remarks.. The cost of staying in the hotel is a Joke.. Spend half the money at a... More

We stayed here two nights, in rooms 5 and 8 (both on the second floor) and it was lovely. The decor was obviously lovingly selected, from the little iron keys scattered around, to the old books and quills, and to the stuffed cat that seems to be a common fixture in Visby. Our room, room 8, had a view of... More

The hotel is in two old buildings so it is perfect for a stay in Visby as you are set back in time. We stayed there for two nights. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The baby bed was prepared as requested. The only pity was that the bar and the area next to it was closed after 7pm... More

You really cannot find a location in Visby that is more ideal for experiencing the romance of the past. It is not possible to describe getting around Visby in terms of "blocks," as you would in a modern city. Instead, Visby is protected by a medieval-era stone ring wall, part of what you would have stayed inside during Danish raids... More
