Stopped off here for lunch after travelling since 5am from Devon and the food was very good and good value for money as you got hearty portions. the local lager is very good too and full of flavour. Will definitely come back again.

First of all keep in mind that this Inn is an hour and a half from the nearest large city, so it is definitely out in the country. Grinton is a VERY small town, but you are in the Yorkshire Dales which are absolutely beautiful. The rooms were more than adequate, everything worked, the pub was very active with locals... More

Fabulous evening meal with my family. Nice surroundings, friendly staff, good food. Really nice place to spend the evening. Also ordered their take away fish and chips which were good value, really tasty and highly convenient after a day exploring the Dales

Went for Sunday lunch along with our daughters dog! Great atmosphere and my 92yr old mum thought it was great. Sat in the bar along with another couple of dogs and all very pleasant. Roast beef and pork was excellent with super yorkshires. Definitely come again.

Charming small inn in a beautiful location. Room was old fashioned but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The evening meal was tasty and well presented chosen from an interesting wide-ranging menu. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This is a small inn that aspires to be a hotel, and a pub that aspires to be a restaurant. We stayed only for one night after a day of traveling. It was chosen strictly for its location, which was excellent. The outside has all the charm sought by most travelers, including the moggie who climbed down from the roof... More

I have just returned from a 3 night stay with my Mum. The Bridge is very conveniently located with Swaledale with some great walks right on the doorstep. The Bridge serves absolutely excellent home cooked food, enormous portions making for great value for money. The breakfast consisted of a very wide choice including full English and even smoked haddock or... More

We found ourselves passing by mid-April so we stopped for a cuppa. It was a Sat lunchtime and the pub was humming but the landlord/barman was not harrassed and was very pleasant. Lovely cup of coffee with a home-made shortbread. It was lovely sitting out on one of the picnic benches, out the front, and watching the world go by... More

A group of 19 of us had meals on 2 consecutive nights. Great menu selection, we pre-ordered which made things easier. All food was excellent and we were all served together and on time. Great beers and atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. Don't bother trying anywhere else, this is the best pub in the area.

The Bridge is a traditional old Dales pub situated in the tiny village of Grinton in Swaledale. We stayed in Room 1 as a twin which is situated directly above the kitchen so the noise of the fans and food preparation has to be lived with for much of the day and sometimes into the night. The room is very... More
