We called in at this pub with a view to booking an evening meal later that day, and sat in the bar enjoying a drink by the open fire. My mobile telephone rang and I answered immediately, but became aware of someone, who had been tending the fire and was a member of staff, standing at my side, talking to... More

Popped in here for drinks twice on a recent walking trip. Lively, dog friendly and people friendly pub. Real ales, fabulous sandwiches and a nice location. If you're anywhere in the vicinity you must pop in.

Could be fantastic but needs a good clean! It is such ashame as no excuse for being dirty. Feet stick to the carpet. Food really good and lovely old building set in a stunning location. Rooms small and dated and noise from kitchen and water system that needs mending.

We've visited the Bridge Inn at Grinton for three years in a row, and have found the food exceptionally good on each occasion, The ales are well kept and the atmosphere is great. Overall the place could do with a freshen up - maybe lose the carpets? but don't remove the old-pub charm.

Stayed one night during Coast to Coast. Great welcome and good ale available. Excellent dinner in a hotel in a nice location. Bedroom and bathroom were OK but looking a little dated. Breakfast excellent but only served 8.30 to 9.

I'm so loathe to tick off The Bridge Inn because it's been a staple of my regular visits to The Dales for many years, a fixed point of quality and consistency in an otherwise ever-changing and often complacent catering landscape. But tonight, in lieu of slow braised lamb, I was served rehashed mash bubble and squeak and the least tender... More

We have just had a three night stay and found everything very pleasant, the room a bit basic but very clean and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and very helpful. The food was excellent, breakfast good quality produce and evening menu excellent. The young man I believe his name is Harvey, very helpful. We will certainly go back, (even... More

The food and staff were very good at this tired and somewhat dated establishment, it could do with redecorating throughout. Don't stay in room one unless you like the noise from the kitchen extractor fans, which run until eleven at night and the smell of cooking, which constantly pervades the bedroom this is because the bedroom is above the kitchen.

Miserable bar staff would not let 70 year old 'open a tab' as he and wife were sitting at an outdoors table. Bar staff thought they might run away without paying!! They pointed out that the chances of them running anywhere at 70 were limited! Pathetic pub.
