A lot of work has gone into making this a friendly and comfortable place. The inside is scattered with comfy seats, light oak beams criss cross across a white plaster ceiling and old canal prints litter the walls. A large car park between the main pub/restaurant and the canal could spoil the views a bit, but the sweeping veranda is... More

We came here today as we drove past on our way to Chorley (were not local) and decided to call for lunch on the off chance. The pub/hotel is a very pleasent place situated along the canal and has lovely views. The bar/resteraunt area was very nice and clean and the staff were very helpful. The food I would say... More

Hi Thank you for your comments on your visit here. When we devised our new menu, we did research it carefully, right down to sourcing local suppliers, and going for quality rather than quantity. I hope that you did enjoy your meal - and that you come back to see us again soon. Hopefully when the sun shines! Thank you... More

The Boatyard is a pub by a canal with separate purpose built motel-style rooms. The rooms are quite nice. The Lancashire countryside is beautiful. However, I was kept awake until midnight by the noise from the resident next door and the noise of speeding vehicles on the nearby road throughout the night - not the fault of the hotel. The... More

Hi Thank you for your comments on your stay - sorry about the resident next door - and being a feeder road to the M65 - the adjacent road can be busy at certain parts of the day. I would assure you that all our food is cooked from fresh to order - but not knowing what you had -... More

What a wonderful place this is. Stayed here on several occasions and the rooms are always as you'd expect... Crisp, clean and modern. Had a few business meetings whilst I was there which we held in the coffee shop in the morning (best full english for miles) then into the restaurant in the evening.. Food was superb, staff are really... More

We stayed for a long weekend while attending a wedding at nearby Samlesbury Hall. Both our rooms were modern, clean and beds extremely comfortable. Situated right next to the Canal. Nothing was too much for the staff, who were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were well cooked and piping hot. Arrived late on the Friday evening as the restaurant was... More

Visited today for a meal as a family. the entire place seemed to be run by one direction and little mix...didnt see a single adult. they seemed to care more about flirting and chatting than serving. the food took an age to arrive and when it did it was of reasonable quality people were walking out as the food took... Hi I am sorry that you did not enjoy your recent visit here. Whilst I can probably understand your frustration about your visit - I do not think it professional or fair to make personal comments about our staff. We were aware of the people leaving (opposite you) because of their child. Yours sincerely Sue Ketley General Manager More

Stayed a few weeks ago and on arrival were shown to our room by a delightful young lady. Room was very nicely presented but the heating was not working! This is where it all went a bit wrong. The poor girl didn't know what to do and there was no manager on site, she tried calling her managers but could... More

Restaurant Only Unable to use the coffee bar/lounge (private function) we selected a table in the restaurant. The barmaid? didn't know what wines were on offer, she simply searched for each one I named. Baked potato with beans and cheese proved to be very watery and tasteless. The "Gourmet Burger" served on a thin plank, looked like a small child's... More

Had a family meal here on Sunday. Great carvery with a good selection of meat and veg. Also excellent choice of real ales. Specials menu looked very tempting would defiantly return to try those . Added bonus of being situated in a lovely location next to the canal.
