We stayed 2 nights at Mariners Cottage while sailing at Castle Cove. A very comfortable room, cleverly providing 1st class accommodation in this lovely old cottage. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves on Chesil Bank is something special. Chrissie made us feel welcome and provided a lovely breakfast with fresh fruits, yoghurt and plenty of hot toast. Thank you so much Chrissie for the wonderful break in your beautiful bed and breakfast. The room was so cosy and comfortable. We loved the comfy bed and all the sweet little touches like gazing at stars on the ceiling! The breakfast was delicious served in the pretty garden room. Portland is a gorgeous place to visit. Great for couples... More

I love it when people come to Mariners Cottage to celebrate special dates, like birthdays! Really pleased you liked the little cottage and the island. You were the perfect guests to have here during that time....and it would be a real pleasure to see you again....Chrissie xxx Of course, Poppy sends her regards.......by the way, she misses Brian's slippers! We have just returned from 3 nights at Mariners Cottage. We are gradually walking the South West Coast Path and chose this ideal location based on previous reviews. The bed is comfy, the shower great and the breakfast's lovely. Christina is a warm and friendly host, recommended.

As we are only 50 paces from the South West Coastal Path, it certainly is convenient that's for sure! Great fun having you stay, and thank you for your comments on the breakfast's.....only the best for 'me' guests. May see you again after you have completed the SWCP......x More

We stayed one night in the first floor bedroom in this lovely little cottage by the sea. The bed was so comfy and I was asleep within seconds of my head touching the pillow. The ensuite had a really efficient shower with plenty of hot water. Christina served us a lovely breakfast in the little dining area.

Great holiday, three of us stayed while two did a carving course in Tout Quarry. Our hostess was warm and welcoming and gave us very good breakfasts to set us up for the day. Lovely bedroom, excellent convenient location for Chesil Beach and Portland and within walking distance of places to eat. Really interesting cottage, old and quaint. Also a... More

Thank you darlings.....so pleased you had a good time sculpting up at Tout Quarry, led by the Portland Sculpture and Quarry Trust. I was amazed that you managed to create and finish these pieces in just a few days, absolutely beautiful, just shows how masterful the tuition is. Anyone interested in taking part in these workshops should go to learningstone.org... More

Christina is a very warm hostess who does a great breakfast. She only has two rooms so it's very friendly and welcoming, and the room we stayed in with our two dogs was lovely. Excellent walks nearby and a great spot to watch the sunset

Especially we liked the breakfasts, but everything else was good too. It was right on the beach with just the sea wall in between and we liked the area and the arty cafes and the sculputure and walking round the island

It's always a pleasure when people enjoy this querky and somewhat eccentric little cottage, thank you for your comments, and when you are next in the area look us up as it would be lovely to see you both again. More

This is our first time staying in a B&B (instead of hotels) and we had a great experience. The cottage has been charmingly renovated keeping the great character with two light airy rooms, one double and one king size - both of which we booked at the same time. Our host Christina was lovely and cooked a tasty full English... More

Do you know, I think the Girls expect an adoring teenager to appear downstairs every morning now....!!! So pleased your first foray into the bed and breakfast world was a successful one, and that you chose us. It can of course produce such diverse experiences as each b&b has it's own approach to the needs of the guest. I agree... More

We only stayed one night on Portland but were so glad that we chose this b&b, as this little cottage had so much character and charm. Our bedroom was very inviting, immaculately clean and comfortable and met all of our needs. The little breakfast room was really quaint with its array of paintings, ornaments and its lovely old clock. The... More
