A thoroughly enjoyable experience here. The location is superb, right next to chesil beach. The cottage is very clean and parking is available directly outside (limited spaces). I stayed on the 1st floor in a double room with an en suite. The room and facilities were very clean. Breakfast is downstairs and a choice of cereals is on offer with... More

We spent one night at Mariners cottage as a base for walking around Portland. Everything was perfect. The bed was probably the most comfortable I have ever slept in, the place was spotless and the room beautifully decorated. Our dog was made to feel most welcome although not as impeccably behaved as the resident retrievers who are adorable. The breakfast... More

Well behaved.......adorable........are you sure you stayed here!! Well yes I cannot disagree with those sentiments, the girls are good, never happier than portraying themselves as large cream rugs. So glad you enjoyed your brief but energetic stay, officially members of the ever growing group of island walkers now. Thank you both for taking the time to post a review. Christinax More

Such a lovely place to stay. Gorgeous pots of colourful flowers on the doorstep of a pretty cottage which was just like Dr Who's Tardis - much bigger inside than it appears on the outside. Spotlessly clean yet very cosy and homely. The ensuite room we stayed in was a good size, beautifully decorated and furnished, and the bed was... More

Unfortunately Lottie, those huge lovely petunias have decided they have performed enough this Summer and have suddenly gone over...... however, just in time for the bulb planting! Lovely review, thank you so much, it gives me great pleasure when guests enjoy this little cottage as much as I do, and to know that they have been comfortable and happy with... More

Thank you for that.....I must say it would be a feather in my cap if anyone added me to their bucket list! Just very glad you enjoyed your stay here on the Island, and surrounding areas, thankfully the weather behaved itself and sunbathing was the order of the day. Just stayed at Mariner's cottage for the third year running. Simply the cosiest, most welcoming and most comfortable B&B you could hope to find, just yards from Chesil Beach. Christina is really welcoming even when we turn up damp and tired on our motorcycles, the rooms are quaint, comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the breakfast is wonderful. Can't recommend it... Even before you enter Mariner's Cottage you know that you are in for a treat. An abundance of petunias and murals painted on the walls make the cottage stand out from the rest. Christina and John are great hosts, always on hand for help and advice if you need it. The en suite room was charming, clean and neat with... More
