The drive to this place is probably the best part. Through rolling hills, you'll finally come to a small little intersection with one restaurant and a pub that is, Portobello. The staff at the village park are really friendly. They have a collection of DVDs, books, large equipment kitchen, showers, toilets, hair dryers and power parking sites. And also lodges... More

We stayed here for two nights...a bit car park like, but friendly staff and spotlessly clean facilities, which we saw being thoroughly cleaned each day. Good laundry facilities. Kitchen small but adequate with plenty of spare utensils etc... And nice communal area for eating which encourages chatting. Bear in mind the local scenery it would have been nice to have... More

We were initially going to stay a night in Dunedin, but we decided that we would go for a leisurely drive through picturesque Otago Peninsula instead. We stayed here for one night on a powered site in our campervan. We were given a lovely space right at the top end, where the next morning, our son was very excited to... More

On our recent short holiday in the South Island, looking for somewhere to stay with a thick fog coming in. Found this little spot & the cabins were excellent. Check was prompt & efficient with the hotel on the corner recommended for a good feed. Not wrong. We were a few minutes after the kitchen closed but the chef &... More

This site was well placed for exploring the peninsula but it feels like they've got complacent with the lack of competition. The village is small which is nice, but the pitches are quite close together so it doesn't feel very private. The kitchen is small so gets really crowded, and the showers are busy - especially the ladies where you... More

We stayed here in a campervan in late January for 3 nights. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The washrooms were very clean and no shortage of hot water in the shower. Used the laundry facilities and there were 2 washing lines to dry clothes on. It's within easy walking distance of the village which has a very nice... More

Good location for touring the peninsula, friendly staff, we stayed in our tent for 3 days, sites good but compact. The kitchen had very few cooking utensils but the area is much too small when the place is full, which it was when we were there. There are not enough seats to accommodate even half the people. My wife cooked... More

We usually stay at hiltons, but no chain hotels around. Stayed here in a 1 bedroom cabin with 3 kids. I must say on first sight we were a little concerned, BUT this was the cleanest place we have stayed on the south island. To us that is the most important thing and would stay again. Would give it 4... More

Nice place and decently priced. We didnt have a camper-van and stayed in one of the en-suite studios. It was really clean with a nice little kitchen which had all the cutlery and a microwave. The lady at the reception was extremely helpful and we did all the activities she suggested and enjoyed all of them a lot. Otago Peninsula... More

This is a great place for what it is- camping/RV/backpacker's place. The tent sites are nicely maintained, the shower/toilet facilities are clean and updated, the laundry facilities are good, and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils and has a nice hot water dispenser. I stayed here 12 years ago, and then again in Dec 2013, and both times I... More
