Great place!! We didn't have a reservation, but were warmly welcomed and given the choice of a normal room or treehouse, both of which looked comfortable and bright. We couldn't say no to the 'tree-room', with the trunk of the tree coming up through the middle of the large room and a view into the canopy from the 'balcony'. A... More

Everything was perfect at this place! Good breakfasts, nice garden, colorful birds, sloths in the trees, and a very caring Kevin (son of the owner I think). Very helpful at organizing tours and assisting travelers. This place is close to the road and YES, you do hear some trucks breaking, but this was not an issue at night (even if... More

My husband and I have stayed at Posada Andrea Cristina many times and each year we look forward to another visit. Alex Martinez and his family are excellent hosts. Alex makes the best breakfast you will find in Costa Rica. His homemade bread is amazing and the fresh fruit is delicious! His backyard is a lush rainforest with birds everywhere.... More

We spent just 1 night in Posada Andrea Cristina, but it was a great time. Cabins are located in a beautiful garden with lots of birds. Host is very firendly and has a big knowledge about wild life. Breakfast is big and tasty, we had the best bread ever in Costa Rica, baked personally by the host. During a breakfast... More

We stayed here as part of our family Eco tour and although this wasn't the accommodations we were supposed to have, I selected it for the experience. Alex was very welcoming to our group of 2 families. We were each put in the tree houses which was awesome to the older kids but not to our almost 1 year old.... More

Sleeping in a tree house is everybody's dream. Alex has done a great job creating a beautiful and whimsical room. In his garden we saw the cutest animal of our trip: a baby ant-eater. Thank you Alex for showing us the scarlet macaw couple and introducing us to the white pineapple.

If it weren't for Alex Martinez I'd say don't bother with this place, but in fact he is extraordinary. I'm even thinking National Geographic should feature him in a story. Since he first built his place Dole has opened a pineapple plantation and as a result there are monstrous trucks zooming by all the time. The immediate surroundings, however, are... More

We stayed in the self-built cabins at Alex´s place for two nights. Not only is his garden a sanctuary for birds of all kinds (not to mention the iguana and the sloth up in the trees), Alex is also a fountain of knowledge which he is excited to share with all his guests. We ate the delicious breakfast of home-made... More

As a family, Costa Rican-owned, business with a heavy conservation slant, I really wanted to like Posada Andrea Cristina. However, Alex had not accurately updated our reservation and was not expecting our arrival. Fortunately, a room was available, but not much of a welcome from the rest of the family. Our room was clean, but beginning to look rather dated,... More

Stayed here for two nights to visit La Selva Biological Station. Lovely jungle courtyard and open air breakfast area with lots of birds - aracaris, tanagers. Alex is very knowledgeable and helpful with planning and booking local sights as well as with advice for touring more widely. Breakfast is excellent and his recommendations for dinner in town top notch. Great... More
