This place is stunning, Colin and David deliver a faultless experience. The attention to detail paid to their house takes you back to a grander age. And as others say below, the food is amazing! I travel loads for work, too much sometimes and see very very few places like Tighard. Come to Canna, stay here and enjoy this unique... More

Don't be fooled - what others have written here is not tripadvisor hyperbole, but is absolutely accurate; Tighard really is this special. I'm often sceptical about some of the more gushing online reviews about places - but in this case the plaudits are amply warranted and more. My partner and I spent three days staying at Tighard with Colin and... More

My partner is a photocopier engineer and was sent to Canna to fix the island's only photocopy machine for the National Trust. His work arranged the travel & accommodation on his behalf and very nicely invited me to go along with him as it was on a weekend. When we arrived on the island, it was so tiny and remote... More

I can only endorse what other reviewers have written, and I couldn't do it more eloquently than the most recent reviews by Theocsbrian and Fineshademan. This is a lovely old house, discreetly and tastefully updated, and with stunning views across to Sanday and Rum. Colin and David are perfect hosts - attentive, discreet and thoughtful. Everything about this place is... More

A superb Guest House offering the most comfortable possible accommodation and excellence of service. Thank you for showing just how well it can be done and for a real element of style. I think "Guest House" is a misnomer --- this is very much more a "House Guest" environment and one feels this throughout. It is an experience as is... More

Canna is a very special island and staying at Tighard ("the high house") was an absolute delight. We were met by Colin and David at the ferry and immediately we knew we had come to the right place. They couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. A very comfortable room, stylish decor and an amazing view towards Sanday and Rum.... More

Colin and David could not have been more welcoming and we really enjoyed our visit to their guest house. Breakfast was wonderful and we did not need anything else all day even after a full day out walking!! Can highly recommend and would love to stay again. Port and fudge were very welcome as a night cap!

fantastic breakfasts, excellent service, warm and welcoming rooms. Sitting outside with a glass of wine taking in the beautiful view, listening to opera, with such delightful company, what more could 2 kiwi girls want?

Our hosts, Colin and David, were welcoming, fun and friendly. The food at breakfast and dinner was first class and generous. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with amazing views. The whole house was elegantly and tastefully decorated, but felt relaxed. There were thoughtful additions such as port and homemade fudge in the bedrooms. We highly recommend you stay here.

This is the best Bed and Breakfast I have ever stayed in - it is really a luxury Hotel for 6 guests. the views, the food, the furnishings, the rooms, the hospitaility all excellent. And for our two mongrels to be allowed to enjoy it all too! Make sure you stay for one evening meal (but remember to support the... More
