It is very rare to describe a Bed & Breakfast business as a lifeline service, but that is certainly the case with Tighard on the island of Canna. Our stay at the weekendo the most westerly of the Small Isles was made special by the attention to detail of the owners Colin and David. For instance complimentary island baked biscuits... More

It is hard to add anything that has not already been said - as soon as you are met off the ferry and taken to Colin & David's home, it feels more like staying with friends than being in a guest house. They have the experience to know exactly what makes a B&B special, and they have executed it wonderfully.... More

There are no roads on Canna, just bumpy stone tracks, so don't expect to take a car. There's a handful of local vehicles, including one belonging to Tighard. They met us off the ferry and, from then on, continued to be helpful, charming and hospitable. By chance, two other couples arrived and departed the same day as us so it... More

We treated ourselves to a two night stay at Tighard Guest House on the Isle of Canna while touring the small Islands on the West Coast of Scotland and what a treat we had. Colin and David made us welcome from meeting us at the Ferry on our arrival to waving us off two days later. The house is amazing,... More

We have travelled along from Eigg where we could only get accommodation in a pod so facilities were pretty basic,to a B & B on Rum where the food was superb but everything else about Rum sadly seems to be v squatter - like to then arrive on Canna( our first ever visit) to be meet at the ferry terminal... In our wildest dreams, we could not have fathomed that this degree of luxury and precision to detail would be available but thanks to Collin....it is! For way less than we had paid anywhere else per night, we were treated like Royalty. From our heavy bags being delivered from the Ferry...to our extraordinarily well appointed rooms...we were pampered. Delicious breakfasts... More

On the hillside overlooking Sanday and Rum,Tighard is a real home from home. Colin and David bent over backwards to make us feel welcome from the word go, with a cup of tea and home-made lavender shortbread. The breakfast spread was incredible, with fresh fruit and home-made croissants - the early-morning smell of baking was enough to make you want... More

We had the most unbelievable weather when we visited in April, and the welcome was just as warm as the sun! The view over to Sanday and Rum was spectacular, particularly from the amazing bay window in our room. All in all, a beautiful, cosy B&B in a stunning setting, and very friendly, hospitable hosts. We'll be back! :-)

Read the previous comments-they are all true regarding welcome ,location, rooms, hospitality & food not to mention our favourite island in the Hebrides-what more could you want-unfortunately , we only had one evening meal as the restaurant ( cafe ) had just opened-our loss as Colins food was divine ( my smoked venison ,goats cheese & beetroot starter was the best... My mum and I visited Canna in mid March.  Canna has always been a very special place for us.  Having only ever travelled to Canna on our family yacht, more often than not to take shelter in the beautiful natural harbour from the Scottish Summer Weather!  We were excited to see what Canna's only B+B had to offer. Well, what... More
