Having spent a sleepless night in another Casona about an hour away we couldn't have been more thrilled to arrive at Casona de Quintana in brilliant sunshine. From the moment we arrived we were transported into a bit of heaven. The room was a sanctuary which was only surpassed by the home cooked dinner we experienced. We enjoyed our first... More

We found this hotel on the Mr & Mrs Smith website so we're expecting a good standard, however on arriving realised that one night was not enough ! The hotel, hosted by the charming Jose is tucked away in a verdant valley. Early evening we enjoyed one of Jose's speciality beers whilst watching the vultures soaring above the spectacular craggy... Beautifully restored and looked after hotel, perfect for a romantic or relaxing getaway. Delicious set menu dinner (20 euros seemed very reasonable for an evening menu), very very comfy bed and lovely bathroom, great breakfast with views over the mountains, lovely grounds, a very pretty village and valley, and very welcoming and helpful hosts. We would definitely recommend and repeat... More

This place is a hidden gem, tucked away in a lush green valley, it is exquisitely decorated, a beautiful old building, packed with character and antiques. Our hosts were wonderful, a very friendly husband and wife team. We ate dinner in the restaurant, the meal was very reasonably priced and one of the best we had during our trip, the... More

Gorgeous place. The house is amazing, I had read the reviews but wasn't expecting anything like that. We were lucky to be there in good weather, I imagine that in the rain the experience could be different and it rains rather a lot in Northern Spain. The set menu is a good option for dinner and breakfast was out of... More

We discovered this place by the website of Mr&Mrs Smith. And otherwise we would never have found this great spot!! Because it's absolutely in the middle of nowhere... But that makes it even more amazing. After a few hours driving through the Spain mountains, we arrived at Casona de Quintana. It is an old house, with only a few rooms... More

We've just spent the most relaxing 5 nights at Casa de Quintana and feel so relaxed and recharged. The hosts of this magical place are lovely and will offer advice on where to go for days out or just a walk by the river in the valley. The food is to die for and at €20 for a three course... More

If you like to get away from it all this is the place! We were lucky to spend a night here when the weather was beautiful so we were able to see it in all its glory. A converted stone farm house loving restored by Jose and his wife, who are charming and warm. The interiors are quite stunning and... More

We spent two nights here and wished we had stayed longer, a beautiful and relaxing hotel and warm and welcoming hosts. The food was a highlight as were the evenings spent relaxing and drinking gin in the spacious lounge.

We spent just one night here while travelling from the Basque Country to Galicia. The peace and quiet up here is a fantastic contrast to the hustle and bustle of Bilbao and the coast. On your drive through the mountains to reach the Hotel, you are as likely to encounter a herd of cows as another vehicle on the road.... More
