This has got to be the worst run Hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff are unprofessional, their claims about refurbishment are rubbish, rooms are small dirty and pokey, I personally did not feel safe staying there, my advise is to book the Talbot don’t even think about staying here, only wish I read the comments on Trip advisor... more

We were greeted by a drunk barman at 5.30PM and shown a stinking room at the top of the hotel (to be away from the late bar). My gut feeling was to go straight away but we only had half an hour to get to a meeting - so we stayed. The late bar was very late, very very noisy... more

If carlsberg did hotels...............they wouldn't do cosmo's. Possibly the worst hotel or should i say hostel ive ever stayed in in my life. Arrived in cosmo's early enough to be greeted by the barmaid/ receptionist. Went up to our room to discover the sockets in the room didnt work and the curtains didnt close. We ordered a double room and... more

Have just returned from an overnight stay in "Cosmo Browns" and can honestly say it has to be the worst hotel I have had the misfortune of visiting. We paid 207 euro for a triple room for one night bed and breakfast and feel utterly robbed of our cash. The curtain rails were hanging off the walls, the windows were... more

A group of us went to Carlow for a hen weekend and booked this hotel well in advance. It was the worst decision we ever made. The man at reception was cold and unwelcomming and it appeared to be a major inconvenience for him to have to deal with guests. He insisted we pay up front prior to seeing the... more

Took us a few attempts to even get into out room as there was problems with the key cards. Room was clean enough but curtains were hanging off rails, Windows were... more

First of all, don't bother visiting Carlow...but if you have to, don't stay in this hotel. This place described itself as under new ownership and recently upgraded, but it was a pit. We were two females traveling together, and we actually felt unsafe. The place was sleazy, and was the lowlight of my trip to Ireland. more

This place is quite simply the worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune to come across. It was filthy. Absolutely filthy. Three of us shared a room at a cost of 65 euro each - so whilst we were not expecting the Ritz, neither were we expecting fawlty towers. When we arrived we were told that the credit card... more
