My teenagers were v impressed by the hotel when we arrived at night in the snow. Charming building, beautifully furnished and decorated with slightly shabby chic theme. The owner is an artist and it shows. Commnal areas were comfortable. Good drying facilities. Bedrooms were a good size though i would have welcomed a bath rather than shower. Breakfast and indeed... Nobody around on arrival, but a notice in the hall telling us where our room was. No question of being asked for identity, passport or payment. We never felt the need to have a key or lock our room. When we returned from a short walk we met Francis the owner who was quiet, charming and helpful. Everything beautifully decorated,... More

Reading previous reviews for this hotel makes me feel that perhaps the hotel had an off week when we stayed. Here is what we experienced when we stayed at the hotel for 7 nights as a group of 12 (1 couple and 10 males who hadn’t met before): Positives: 1. Beautifully furnished and decorated hotel with lots of interesting artwork... More

Thanks for the compliments on the positive side, which are usually shared by the majority of our guests, who realize that we offer much more than required by an average 3 star hotel in terms of deco, ambiance, cosy rooms, etc .. Your comments on TripAdvisor being extremely long, I shall have to answer the same way. Sorry for the... More

Hotel du Pillon is without any doubt a gem. A french art merchant decided to buy the hotel in 2007 and he succeeded, at least almost. The location is perfect, in front of the Alpes Vaudoises, although not exactly in front of the Glacier des Diablerets. Atmosphere is cosy or homely and rooms are nice and comfortable. Everything is clean... More

We just spent the weekend in this delightful hotel after I received a wonderbox giftbox weekend for 2 nights. The hotel is original and quirky and the owner is super friendly and helpful and spoke to us in English, French and Spanish within 5 minutes ! The breakfast is excellent with yoghurt from the local dairy and my husband enjoyed... More

Sunny location with great views of Les Diablerets village and the glacier (www.diablerets.ch/webcam ,village shows the view from the hotel). 19th century charm, modern comforts. Easy access to hiking trails, nice sun-deck, laid back atmosphere No restaurant in summer, but there are nice places within walking distance (Auberge de l'Ours in Vers L'Eglise) , in Diablerets village or up in... Owner is charming with his perfect French English accent, details are impeccable and coffee is not bad. Nice lounge with tv, piano ... Books lots of books!. The rooms are well decorated and complete of "mountain" details, in season the food is basic and good and if you are lucky enough to have a sunny day .. Lunch on the... More

I can only recommend this most charming hotel where you immediately are greeted and feel at home. The rooms and living space are all cosy and well decorated and invite you to lounge and enjoy life. We only did breakfast there but that in itself is already quite the experience, special note of the prize winning gruyere selection on display.... More
