A very enjoyable long weekend. The owner (Frances) was very helpful and provided advice and ideas about where to go during our stay. Our room was small and compact but clean and tidy and had everything you needed. Lovely views from the window over rolling countryside. Only minor disappointment was that we booked a room with a shower / bath... More

An excellent B&B, beautiful setting, loved watching the birds come to the feeders on the window. Francis made us very welcome. Excellent breakfast. A local bus goes into Bath from the B&B, very friendly bus driver. We really enjoyed our stay here, very relaxing.

Frances welcomed us with a cup of tea in the sunroom overlooking the stunning views of the countryside. She suggested we try the local inn down the bottom of the hill for dinner and also catch the local bus into Bath for the day, both of which we did and thoroughly enjoyed. The breakfast was great; plenty of options and... More

Me and my partner had a anniversary weekend away at this lovely quaint B and B, lovely owner she was very welcoming superb service. Breakfast was lovely my partner requested extra bacon on the second morning and duly got his wish. The steepness of the driveway that has been noted in other reviews is really not that bad as bath... We were welcomed warmly by Frances who instantly offered to make us hot drinks while we settled in our room. The top floor was decorated beautifully with amazing views. Frances herself was very friendly and always had a smile on her face, the service at breakfast was superb and so was the food - help yourself to fresh fruit, yoghurt... More

Frances made us feel very much at home. Food was superb & served with a view of the garden containing lots of wildlife, rooms were clean with en-suite, tv & tea/coffee facilities. Plenty of room to park if you can master the steep drive! Would highly recommend staying here quiet location. Easy reach of Bath, Bristol, Shepton Mallet for Bath... More

We were looking for a quiet B&B near Bath for a weekend break, and we found it at Shrubdown. The welcome we received from Frances when we arrived set the tone for the whole weekend. She worked hard to make sure that we were settled and had everything that we needed. The property is charming with a lovely garden overlooking... More

Very friendly family run B&B attached to the family home. Currently 3 double rooms and we stayed in the room with valley view (which is v nice indeed). Bathroom has a v luxurious bath thats just been put in as part of a refit, go for room with garden view if you would prefer a shower though. We would agree... More
