Clean, tidy unit with the most comfy bed and pillows ever! Only problem was the soundproofing of rooms which was minimal. Non-stop noise from people slamming doors, talking etc from about 5.30am. Friendly staff. Had a meal in the restaurant which was good. Pool tables too and lovely view from restaurant and room

This hotel never arranged a cancellation for us back in January. Neither you nor the booking website got back to us in a timely manner after multiple calls and emails, and our card was charged over $100. We were told as long as we reached out 24 hours ahead of time, we could cancel free of charge. We never stayed... More

We stopped here one night on our way down the coast and then inland over the Haast Pass. It was a convenient for a one night, clean but quite basic. The food was okay and breakfast better than expected. Service for the evening meal was quite slow.

Travelling family from Queenstown to the Franz Josef Glacier. We stayed overnight and had a great experience. The room was clean and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and professional. Special compliments to the Head Chef for catering to our requests for breakfast, as well as to the housekeeping for ensuring our departure was timely and smooth. Given that... More

We were shocked to find no fridge in the room. Traveled all around both islands, stayed in lots of different places, but this was the only one with no fridge, no table and chairs. The worst accommodation of our whole trip.

Nice place to stay while exploring the West Coast, glaciers etc. The room was nice and clean, large bed, easy car parking. The set up in the bathroom was a bit interesting, the open ground level shower meant water went everywhere - but would have been excellent for disabled guests. Pity there was no fridge in the room as food... More

We stayed at the Heartland World Heritage Hotel for three nights as we explored the lower West Coast of NZ (Sth Is) Accommodation was clean, well appointed and reasonably roomy with great water pressure in the showers. Staff were outstandingly friendly and attentive to everything we needed. Pub/restaurant on site served good local food and again staff were very friendly... More

The accommodation was better than expected, clean, king-sized bed, shampoo etc - no fridge in the room and the walls are a bit thin. We made the mistake of eating there - rib-eye steak was ordered rare and came out medium to well done. Vegetarian lasagne was a shocker and a tiny serve. Nice wine but flat beer. No ambience.... Haast is the southern entry to the Western coastline. There are few places to stay so if you are coming from Queenstown as we were it is a useful place to stay before embarking on the tour along this beautiful but townless route. The hotel has very comfortable rooms with sliding glass doors onto a grassy area with picnic benches... More
