Really quiet with all you need, this was a good little place we briefly stayed at whilst on our holiday a couple of years ago. The unit was dated but thats not really a concern, and it was both really spacious and suitable with the useful bonus of sandfly screens to prevent the pesky creatures rampant in Haast & surrounds... Slightly dated decor but a very comfortable and extremely clean. For a nights stop over it offers great value. The American girl on reception was a pleasure to deal with and very friendly, professional. The main pub on the highway (Hard Antler) offered a great evening meal and local atmosphere but avoid the nearby cafe (The FanTail) opposite the parking/toilets.... More

One night stay in a one bedroom unit. Comfortable and clean room, slighty dated décor but doesn't detract from the overall experience. A nice quiet place to spend a night while driving through. Room had all the modern comforts. Owners very accommodating and friendly. Recommend driving down to Jacksons Bay for Fish and Chips by the sea.

Clean, comfortable and with screens on the windows to keep out insect life! Friendly reception. Wifi available at a cost of $5.00 per hour. Very quiet location away from main road. A good place to stay.

Well kept and maintained motel staff were only to obliging to help where ever they could. The little road house was friendly and clean. A nice quite little place to stay. The surrounds well kept and lovely.

We had one night in a studio room. Friendly service on arrival and throughout our stay. Lovely big unit, decor isn't modern, but unit very clean and comfortable, had a great sleep. Weather was terrible, so happy to stay in our unit! Had a lovely large meal at the local, 'Hard Antler'.

We arrived at 8.30 pm and would have appreciated better signage on the highway. But room was great and staff friendly. Were directed to the Hard Antler for a late but delicious dinner! Facilities in room good and clean.

I always believe that the journey should very much be an enjoyable part of any trip. On this occasion we were travelling from Hokitata to Wanaka via Haast and had booked The Aspiring Court motel as a place to stop and look around the region. The town was much smaller than I expected and equally so the choice in accommodation.... More

An overnight stop on the way to the glaciers. I booked in advance but needn't have bothered as it had vacancies. The motel was very cut and paste with little in the way of distinguishing features. The beds were fairly comfortable and the pillows were clean. A decent kitchen range, more than adequate furniture. My only complaint was that the... More

Haast Pass was closed overnight and there was no alternative route. We arrived at 9pm.shops were all shut. went to onsite pub where staff told us they were closing,so our evening meal consisted of a packet of crisps and a bottle of beer. Room was adequate for an overnight stay but I would suggest getting to the pass before 6pm or... More
