Nice place to stay on the road between Wanaka and Fox glacier. Quiet and peaceful place, with beautiful stars and sky. The bedroom itself was small but clean and OK. Haast itself a small village, nice place for a break on the road.

We stayed one night here on our travels. It was extremely basic and dated, but clean and quiet. There isn't much to choose from if stopping in this area, but one night was enough. We didn't have much choice in either places to stay or where to eat.

This is a fairly bare bones place in Haast, just off the main road to Wanaka about 3 km south of the long, single lane, Haast river bridge. It was perfect for us, just a one nighter. I booked and paid through the I-site at Hokitika way north on the same day and it was all set when we arrived.... More

Travellers be warned, dont stay at this motel. We had owners of another motel book us in advance for an overnight stay here last week , unfortunately we did not allow enough travel time to get there, so doing what we thought the right thing rang in advance informing them we wont make it that night, the rude and obnoxious person... Really quiet with all you need, this was a good little place we briefly stayed at whilst on our holiday a couple of years ago. The unit was dated but thats not really a concern, and it was both really spacious and suitable with the useful bonus of sandfly screens to prevent the pesky creatures rampant in Haast & surrounds... Slightly dated decor but a very comfortable and extremely clean. For a nights stop over it offers great value. The American girl on reception was a pleasure to deal with and very friendly, professional. The main pub on the highway (Hard Antler) offered a great evening meal and local atmosphere but avoid the nearby cafe (The FanTail) opposite the parking/toilets.... More

One night stay in a one bedroom unit. Comfortable and clean room, slighty dated décor but doesn't detract from the overall experience. A nice quiet place to spend a night while driving through. Room had all the modern comforts. Owners very accommodating and friendly. Recommend driving down to Jacksons Bay for Fish and Chips by the sea.

Clean, comfortable and with screens on the windows to keep out insect life! Friendly reception. Wifi available at a cost of $5.00 per hour. Very quiet location away from main road. A good place to stay.

Well kept and maintained motel staff were only to obliging to help where ever they could. The little road house was friendly and clean. A nice quite little place to stay. The surrounds well kept and lovely.

We had one night in a studio room. Friendly service on arrival and throughout our stay. Lovely big unit, decor isn't modern, but unit very clean and comfortable, had a great sleep. Weather was terrible, so happy to stay in our unit! Had a lovely large meal at the local, 'Hard Antler'.
