We stayed for one night in June 2011. The hotel is good but not great value for money but then nothing in Ascona is. It is a very expensive place. Pretty and nice views of the lake but not from the hotel.

Being stranded in Italy recently (thanks to the volcano) we rented a car and drove around Lago Maggiore. In Ascona, we discovered Luna hotel. Very well located it is closed to the lake and the old city centre. The service is excellent and friendly yet very professional. We felt very welcome. We liked the quietness of our room and the...

This hotel is just a stones throw from the main promenade. If you're looking for a wellness hotel with swimming pool this is definitely not for you. If you want a great friendly hotel with a personal note, then this is just for you. The couple that run this hotel are friendly and gave us lots of advise on where...

We arrived in Ascona on a very busy weekend and most of the hotels were full including Hotel Luna, however Glenn (the owner) was extremely helpful and offered us one nights accommodation in a double room and two nights in a single room. We agreed to the one night in the double (which was a great, large room) but thought...

Ascona has a reputation for being expensive but this hotel bucks the trend. The hotel is well-situated (5 minutes' walk from the lake) but far from the noisy bars and restaurants on the boardwalk.

- Avoid getting a room on the...

Only a short, relatively flat walk to Ascona's lake foreshore. Comfortable, quiet room, although relatively small. Lack of airconditioning could be an issue mid-summer. Ample free parking. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel has a 2 star rating, but after having stayed at a lot of hotel in Switzerland, this hotel was by far the best value for money.
We got a room facing south on the top floor. A nice large room with a nice bathroom and a balcony. From the balcony there was a view over the mountains and...

We travelled in a group of eight & started our European vacation with two nights at this hotel. Ascona was recommended to us by some American friends & it did not disappoint. We arrived very early as our plane flew in to Milan at 6.30 am so by the time we got to Ascona it was about 9.30-10.00. Because we...

A very nice simple, clean, quiet hotel just over 5 minutes walk from the waterside and many restaurants, the Luna's greatest assets are Glen, the owner and its friendly staff. It also benefits by being quite a bit cheaper than both other Ascona hotels and similar hotels in other areas of the Ticino.
We had a south facing room which...
